If you get a new computer will you have the same IP address? I am not sure how it works.
I just got a new laptop and have been nervous about logging in to my PTRs. I don't want to be deleted!

Your IP address depends on your ISP (Internet Service Provider, like AOL, RoadRunner, Tiscali, etc), not your computer.

Having a new computer shouldn't affect the PTRs you're in.

that situation takes place when you are using dial-up or other no static ip connections...

No static IP is pretty much the majority of ISPs now.
Giving a static IP means someone can use their connection as a server, which tends to cause the ISP to have issues with lack of bandwidth, along with other problems.
And you sure wouldn't want to be on an ISP that had that issue, being on a shared T1 connection like that was as slow as dial up when I had that happen!
Anyway, as far as PTRs goes, WMs should be checking to see if more than one account has the same IP, information, and might be accessing the same computer. As long as no one else uses your computers for a PTR you are a member of, you should be fine.
