I don't blame you, but the update is to tell you the server issue are now RESOLVED and you can use ClickityCash as usual again!

She came out kicking, screaming, fussing, fighting and reluctantly, but we have
now have QUADs!!! Yep! FOUR, count `em FOUR brand new, clustered servers ready
to faithfully execute your every ClickityCash whim!
Have you ever tried to coordinate 4 servers? Well, don`t! It isn`t fun.
Unfortunately, many of the problems you encounter cannot be predicted and don`t
show up until you go live. You may have experienced several different kinds of
problems today - believe me, I did too and was on them as they occurred.
I *think* we have the last of the configuration problems solved. Everything
seems to be humming along currently. The one problem we did not foresee that
caused the largest damage was a hanging permission to the database from the okd
server, that actually prevented data from being written by the new server. This
was actually solved inadvertantly and the whole mess was not discovered until we
realized that data was missing for a span of about 18 hours following the DNS
switch yesterday evening.
Many of you have been surprised and a bit wary to find extra ClickityCash,
RealCash and Raffle cash in your accounts. I put it there. Spend it. Enjoy it.
It should more than make up for your lost efforts during the database confusion.
Included in the lost data were 81 sign ups. I get a copy of their Welcome
Letters, so I had a record of their email address and sponsor. I emailed each
one of them separately, inviting them to come back in and re-create a member
account. I explained why and apologized. I included the properly coded URL to
the corresponding sponsor`s Join page. Hopefully, we`ll get most of them back.
The proliferation of the DNS should be complete within another 24-48 hours. If
you still cannot reach the site, please try again later - your local ISP will be
picking up the change in DNS soon. We`d hope to be able to leave both servers
on, but that`s what caused the database confusion, so we had to turn the old one
off.
But have you noticed the *speed* of page deliveries now! WOW! We`ve actually
been using the database on the new cluster for about three days, and you have
noticed a speed increase even then, but now the scripts are running on the new
servers as well and it`s lightning fast!
The increased speed generated nearly 58,000 page views yesterday! And as people
gain confidence in the new server cluster, that is going to double and triple
over the next few weeks!
I want to thank all of you for your patience and understanding through these
turbulent first five weeks of CLickityCash. I am gratified by your response,
enthusiasm and support. I appreciate you all making sure I am aware of the
problems that have occurred. I may not get a chance to respond to each of them
individually, but you can be assured that I have seen your message and am doing
what can be done about it.
I`m still working on refining the page selection algorhythm. I know there are
still some of you whose page(s) are not being shown in an equitable manner.
This is a tough one to program, as numerous factors need be taken into
consideration, but I`ll keep at it until equity is achieved.
Let`s all relax now, and get some serious clicking done!
Keep on Clickin!
