Okay, I see these everywhere in the PTR world, and I can understand how it is a necessary evil to have members help generate some extra revenue for the site.
I have a few revenue links already on my site, but I was wondering if I could get some input on the idea of revenue links, and what seems to work well and actually gain support.
As I am planning on moving to Cash Crusader scripts soon, I was thinking of going to points being for only revenue links (ie. only admin sends point links) and converting points to cash for members monthly to reward them for their support, and having these be opt-in only (and likely two sets of them, one for search friendly countries, one for all countries).
What I was considering for point to cash was taking the total amount of revenue the members earned for the site, dividing it in half and that goes right to the site. Then taking the rest and dividing it by the number of points given out that month and crediting members for an appropriate amount.
I admit, I am definitely a newbie, and not sure if this will work well at all, but I also can see that paid links will only cause debt with a lack of support.
Also, any advice on sites for revenue? I have modchip, blazerunner, searchdrifter, diggysearch, searchwallet, searchbotz, first-zone, shareadspace (and am an approved site!) and mako links, that I could easily send out now. I just signed up for Webanyway, as I hear that's a good one.
Thanks in advance for the advice!
Becky
