| Martha Stewart was convicted Friday of obstructing justice and lying to the government about a suspicious stock sale, a devastating verdict that probably means prison time for the homemaking and publishing icon. |
I'm just shocked and speechless about this.

Nah. She'll go to prison. She lied to the gov't and they don't like being made to look like fools. (Gov'ts do that well enough without outside help.

Having an affair and obstruction of justice are hardly comparable.
And, while I doubt Stewart is going to get the full 20 year sentence, I think she'll get some jail time. And there's also a possibility the gov't will try to have her removed from the board of directors of her company, where she is chief creative officer (she stepped down as CEO after being charged).

Scary? That made me think of this scene from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Buffy: What's up?
Xander: Anya has a theory. She thinks that Martha Stewart froze that guy.
Anya: Don't be ridiculous. Martha Stewart isn't a demon. (to Buffy) She's a witch.
Xander: Please, she- (pauses) Really?
Anya: Of course. Nobody could do that much decoupage without calling on the powers of darkness.

I thivk it is a shame. If someone told me my stock was going down I would sell it too. The 7 year sentence that guy got is ridiculous. They should be putting net scammers in jail, not her. They will probably appeal but if I were her I would wait to hear the sentence first.
The sentencing doesn't happen before june (I've got BBC world open on tv)
and after that they're naturally going to appeal.

Having an affair isn't illegal. He perjured himself. Check the spelling on that one. He even admitted it a few months ago, after Star dropped everything for good.
Now, tell me Clinton was such a great president. He sat there on national television, finger waving, and told us all that he did not have sexual relations with "that woman." Yeah. Great guy.
Oh, and he WAS impeached. Second president to do so. Just wasn't booted. Two different things. Need to be impeached before you get the boot, like getting your permit before you get your license.

I think she needs to go to jail for her crimes, just like anyone else. She was found guilty by a jury on what, all counts?
Heck, just send her to my very unorganized home, and she will feel like she is in jail or worse...

One charge was dropped a while ago. But I guess that still makes it all counts, since that one that was dropped, she wasn't found not guilty, she wasn't found anything on.

No !!! Send her to mine. I need a decorator, and trust me, she'll serve REAL TIME getting my space all organized and neat. If nothing else, she'll go insane trying to teach me to do crafts - I'm hopeless at that stuff
Maybe we can share her talents, Bobbie !
