This is perhaps a bit harsh, but will eliminate those who just use MyECom's Banner Exchange as an easy way to earn points, especially if they receive a lot of hits to their site.
Hopefully, these recent changes will help improve MyECom further.

March 8, 2002 -- Effective immediately YET another restriction regarding points for the banner exchange and personal websites. The CTR idea worked for awhile but of course once the news got out that there was a requirement to keep your banner code active. People are now just making sure to click on there own banner exchange code once in awhile or if their code got disabled they simply create a new banner account. You may thank those who abused the system for these changes.
So here is how it is going to work you can only make a Max of 10,000 points total for the banner exchange and personal websites between each banner sale that you make.
This means that if you reach 10,000 points for the banner exchange, your personal website or a combined total from both and you have not made a sale, then you will no longer get points until someone buys from your code. This will definitely prevent people from cheating as it can be tracked directly on their MyEcom account.
