Clearly, registering with multiple email accounts or not providing a valid address is outright cheating.

As per terminating non-clickthrus, members who are not clicking are not viewing advertising paid for by the advertiser. Hence the advertiser is not receiving the service he/she has paid for in the form of x amount of views.

Why your members reacted negatively to your asking them to correct the multiple accounts and/or correct their addresses with 48 hours is beyond me.

In fact anyone signing up with mutiple email adddesses and not providing a legitimate address has, from the getgo, violated your sign-up terms.

No warning period necessary; simply delete them as their intentions are very clear ie. cheating.

In my case I have always used one email adress (AOL) which cannot bounce and always filled in my info right after getting the email instructing me to do so.

Your experiances were most interesting inthat I now am beginning to understand why webmasters tend to become more terse with their members over time; a case of the bad apples spoiling it for the rest of us.

Perhaps Chris Houlihan's idea should be brough to fruition; he suggested that there be a place, in the forum, where all webmasters can post hate letters received from their members so that those of us who are half decent will better understand what webmasters truly face day in and day out.

I wish you well; please remember most of us are okay but the Internet is such that it shreads away the social mask people wear in the real world. Anonymity allows the Beast Within to emerge.

Be Well.

One of the main reasons I had Cynthia take over my sites was the way I got treated on some occasions. On one site I have a clause that says rude replies won't get a response. Anyway, the point being, I was that used to the bad treatment, that my support attitude was getting really bad, to where I would practically fly off the handle. If it wasn't for the support of my friends, and my girlfriend, i'd have probably thrown the lot in, instead of getting a manager.

I actually enjoyed that email. I needed a good laugh today.

When i first started joining all these paid to read email sites i put na in city and 11111 in zipcode cuz the option to do so was there...i couldn't be bothered to type it in every time i joined a new site. I did write my name and address though cuz there wasn't the option to put non applicable there. I'm just wondering if you aren't allowed to write 11111 in zip code...why does it say to put 11111 in zip code if it's non applicable then? I know everybody prolly has both a zip code and a city where they live but i don't think the option to fill in na and 11111 should be there when you aren't allowed to write it anyways.
I'd been a member of some ptre programs for 6 months before i started filling in my zip and city (think it waz cuz of an email from tombmailer) but i'm sure that it still says na and 11111 in some of the first ones that i joined.

I think the point of it is that you should click what IS applicable to you .. I for one do not have a city or a zip code, I have a town and post code. The forms are Americanised so there are no alternatives for us foreign members. There are some countries missing out of the pull down menu too, i.e China and Spain

If I knew how to change/add them on my site I would.

hmmm Jazzy mean? hmmm so you telling me I can't have my husband daughter mother brother aunty uncle cousin nephew neice and granma signup from my pc??? we are all different people !! ... meaneh !! ae.gif

Oh boy can i relate to this one!!!! LOL
and Wayne, you're not alone. I think all of us go thru it.

I'd like these members to run a site of their own for 1 week. I don't think they could take it!

I get called rude, obnoxious every once in a while.

Hey, i'm human, and there may come a time that i have other things to deal with than a rude comment or answer something that is already answerd in the TOS or the FAQ's.

But nobody seems to realize there's a human being running the site.
I think sometimes they think we're robots.

LOL

You're in good company!!!! LOL

LOL, i'm still laughing over this one

11111 is an example
common sense tells you your zipcode is 5 digits.

That's why it's there, simply an example.

I get a kick out of people who want to be paid by check but when they sign up they give erroneous information.

How in the world do they expect to be paid.

I've discontinued the check option because i'm sick of it.

Personally i couldn't care less what info anyone puts in, but lets say you pay for advertising with pay-pal or egold

The webmaster gets a notice firstname, lastname paid you XXXX for

Then the member sends their ad copy without their username, and the e-mail address doesn't match their username or their e-mail they use at the p2read.

How in the world are webmasters supposed to match the payment up to the ad.????

We can search by first and last names, etc at least those running the CC scripts can search that way but if you give the wrong info, there's no way to match up the ad copy to the payment.

Then there's those asking to be paid.

Instead of sending in the redemption from pressing redeem XXX for XXXX

they just e-mail ya from another account, no username, other than I request payment via pay-pal etc.

Now how are we supposed to figure out who they are?

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

I give 11111 as zipcode because my country does not have zip codes. I thought some programs specify that 11111 could be given if the zip code is not applicable to the subscriber?

Also, I give NONE for my country as my country (SRI LANKA) is not mentioned in some programs.

I appreciate Richard's answer to this zip code and country problem that members like us are faced with it. He said that we can give 11111 for zip code and NONE for country if:

1) we do not have zip codes
2) if our country is not listed

But we have to ensure all other information is valid. I think it is very fair and I would like to thank Richard for being understanding and also a big thank you to Dana for bringing this up. If she hadn't, I guess members like us would have been deleted.

Thanks again Richard and Dana. You guys....(ummm guy and gal I mean), are tops.
