From RefRewards:

Happy Holidays and Thank You all for an astounding year!

2002 is sure to be even more exciting for all of us. We will be expanding your earning opportunities throughout the coming year.

We do want to apologize and explain our recent down time. In late September we moved RefRewards to a new dedicated server. It gave us more room to expand and grow as well as improved the functionality of our program.

Unfortunately we have been plagued with hardware issues which caused some interruption in our services. The hard drive on our server was not of the highest quality and had been steadily degrading. It finally gave out two weekends ago and shut the server down completely. This was also complicated by a conflict between our database and the server's kernel which resulted in various database errors.

We have had weekly backups of all member data and the site stored off the server in case of situations such as this. Our database backups, though, were also corrupted as they had been copied from the bad hard drive, errors and all.

Our last full backup that was not from this server was still intact from late September. We rebuilt our member data from that point forward with what we could recover. Some of the member accounts, that had joined between the end of September and mid-December, were lost or unrecognizable. Some of various members individual earnings were also lost. All start page points were lost for October, November and December.

We were able to recover all member earnings for paid to signup offers and significant amounts of the earnings from point and paid emails.

This past weekend before Christmas we were prepared to come back online.

Then one of the technicians at our NOC (Network Operations Center) mistakenly re-formatted the hard drives on the server we were on. This was something he was supposed to do to our backup server we had just acquired for RefRewards to avoid issues like this again. After he realized his mistake, he re-formatted the backup server too. Now we had no copy of the recovered database we had re-constructed.

We did however have a complete and uncorrupted copy of the database from late September. No earnings or member account created since that time were in that database. They are lost forever. The technician and his supervisor have been reprimanded appropriately. One is no longer working in our NOC.

We do have logs of all the paid to signup offers from late September to mid December available and will begin re-crediting them over the next 30 days.

Anyone who joined since September 26th will have to recreate their accounts to begin earning again. Your old logins, userids, and member IDs will no longer work. We do apologize for this inconvenience.

Now we are back online and have 2 brand new servers. Our NOC is committed to doubling staff rapidly and have revised their procedures to avoid mishaps such as happened to us. We are also committed to you, our members, to serve you to the best of our ability.

The additional uncredited earnings we have on file will be evenly distributed among the active members in the month of January. To remain active you must use your start page once or respond to one paid, point and/or paid to signup email each month. It will be distributed as a bonus for your support. You will also earn 10% of your downlines bonus for 3 levels down. All new members in January are eligible for the same bonus as well.

This will be a strong and profitable year for all of us. You are about to see RefRewards soar!

Happy Holidays and New Year to You All!

RefRewards Team.

Also, in the RefMaker forum, Rick also stated that some members have negative balances.
From Rick:
This is due to the fact we did subtract all payments already made in the past 3 months. NOBODY owes us anything - if your balance is negative.

We will be re-crediting all the signup offers over the next 30 days (3 months worth) which will bring the negative balances back up. We will also be sending out a lot of paid emails to get the balances back up as well.

Well, RefRewards will recover and be better then ever...

However, there is still some loss from Sep to Dec. This will make people suspicious and loose faith in the program.

Yes you are right, lgwong. It looks as if RefMaker & RefRewards are dying... first is forum problem, then RefRewards, what's next?

I have lost around $4!, my earnings dropped from $23+ to around $19.70. :frown:

When my earnings is restored, I will cashout & stop using RefRewards. No more recieving paidemail or signup offers anymore.
