AYS PaidEmails will be sent to your Internal Inboxes Only - effective 02/13/04

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause - however, our resources, time & patience with the recent email serving issues have been exhausted.

Due to the recent Spam Laws that became effective at the beginning of the new year, many online services such as AOL, Hotmail, MSN, Yahoo and others have been blocking emails from rewards type programs. This is causing bouncing unlike anything I have ever witnessed. 30 - 40 percent of each paid email sent out is coming right back into our server. Multiply that times 20 plus paid emails per day to over 27,000 members, all server resources are quickly exhausted, slowing the server down to a crawl and not allowing anyone, members or admin, to get any work done.

This has also been affecting our advertisers as well, not allowing them to get full benefit from the service due to blocking. This should also help to speed up the turnaround time for ads to go out from the time received, including both cash sales and redemptions.

Another issue, while I have your attention, we are hiring and training new employees to help with member support questions. When this program first started, all emails were answered regardless of what the question may have been, but due to both the increasing membership and lack of manpower we have been unable to handle all these requests daily. Thus pissing everyone off. So we are going to try, and I say try, to get this program back the way it was in the beginning. This does not mean we will cater to questions that can easily be answered on the site itself, but questions that cannot be answered on the site will be addressed.

Hi,

AYS just looks like they are looking for excuses to delete members. We have no problem with all the e-mail addresses mentioned in this e-mail from AYS.

I requested payout 2 days ago from AYS and was informed I would receive payout in 90 to 120 days.

I've seen people in other forums yelling that they should be boycotted. Now I see why. If anybody from AYS takes issue at what I said contact me. In my opinion AYS should be boycotted, treated as a scam, etc. Just my thoughts.

tsk, tsk.

another new rule to add to the book wink.gif

I look at it this way you can't please everyone

this will

1. Keep hosting costs down

2. keep the server at a decent speed (hopefully)

3. Everyone who refused to change their email addy from hotmail/msn etc has nothing to whinge about

4. if you still want to read it through your "email addy" use the pop3 service they have available and read them through outlook

The use of the word "scam" is way to widely used round here. Until they stop paying I'll keep being impressed at the amount I'm earning and the past earnings I've been paid

This brings Tasia's to mind.

I obviuosly will never be be paid by either of these programs.

TPL said you'll be paid by 02/04/2004.
I made a payment request in November. Now I get a message saying sorry we need more time to pay you...sorry for the inconvenience!

Don't quote me here pleaase.

tasias was a completely different story

tasias was left unmanned for months while money circulated. He was taking a year to pay. AYS takes a couple of months and are now hiring more staff to cope

saying that

2003-12-30 14:45:00 Cash Payout -25.00 (tasias)
You can expect payment on or before: 2004-04-05 ($30)

another $400 or so to go from tasias

AYS

Payout $77.2700
Payout $128.0300
Payout $55.6300
Total Cash Debits: $ 260.9300

$134 due to be debited from my account anytime
then I have around another $216 to go

seems I'm not the only one getting paid by both these places either

Forget Tasia's

AYS is the issue in this thread.

I have never had a problem with Yahoo.com.
I've been accused of working for them...sure would like to see those checks...LOL

I see no reason for anybody banning yahoo, hotmail,MSN addys.AOL issues I'll save for the appropiate thread.

Juliet,

Being a Paranoid kinda guy,I wouldn't dream of using Outlook Express.

Any PO who would suggest that to their members is totally reckless and unconcerned about their members well-being.

I have no problem witjh my yahoo account.Members of my site don't seem to have problems with yahoo or hotmail or AOL.So maybe that's just an AYS problem.

This comment based on the new rule makes no sense at all.

They were looking to delete BOUNCING emails, if I remember correctly. If they're not sending out emails to accounts - they won't bounce.

Now how is that a new rule to DELETE members? Seems to me as if they're trying to get RID of one of the reasons, not add one.

If bounced emails is a problem for them, this should be a really good solution. It takes 2 shakes of a lambs tail to log in and hit the inbox. It's not an ordeal.

Besides - will POP3 still be available? If it is, I guess that'll solve the problem of HAVING to do the emails on site.

There's a thread at GPT boycott already for boycott. Most of the replies ended up being from happy members. There's members posting at AYS just about every day receiving their checks - and that's just a small portion of the membership. I don't think a whole lot of folks are registered/posting on that forum.

I see too many people getting paid. If you don't like the program, don't do it, but don't try to take it away from others.

Tasias - so NOT in the same boat. I rarely ever see someone posting they got paid, and supposedly Tasia's membership is way bigger. I think member number is the order you joined in regards to others. I've seen numbers in the 40,000. That's at least double AYS.

Edited to add - As far as those email systems not being a problem for you, that's great. But MANY webmasters have talked about banning Hotmail and Yahoo. This is nothing new, and has nothing to do with JUST AYS. It's called, "having a 2MB or 4MB email account, and belonging to 100 different programs." Especially ones that send a lot of mail. Hotmail and Yahoo were just NOT set up for those huge volumes you get belonging to so many programs. I think I belong to MAYBE 30, and I have several different Hotmail accounts, and stay on top of them all the time. I've never had problem one with bouncing.

AOL - lots of posts around just on this board alone about AOL. Far from being a problem just with ONE program. When I started the PTC programs back 3 years ago, I was hearing THEN that AOL was a problem - that their software wasn't compatiable with AOL. Problems with AOL stems back to at least then - again, nothing NEW.

Ambrianna,

I'd like to take back that boycott word.
I have some AYS mail in my yahoo box now that I'll be clicking later today.

I see some sites now offerring the on-site inbox as an option which I think is OK.

I think if people like you and I can keep our mailboxes functioning then why can't everyone else?I've found things I did not like with every ISP mail service I've had that's why I no longer use them. Also,if the size of a yahoo or hotmail box is a problem, you can purchase more space.

Another site I'm in did this yahoo, hotmail thing a few months ago.I'm still a member there with a yahoo account and having no problems.I hope it works out the same with AYS.

This is something that's puzzled me as well. smile.gif

The only thing that makes any sense is that folks are in just WAY too many programs and don't have the time to keep up.

I would guess too, that not everyone knows you can have more than one free account at least at SOME of these places. So if someone really wants to be in 70 or 80 programs or more - spread the emails out around a few email accounts. Won't be as much of a problem then.

There are some people out there that cannot afford to purchase additional space.
I don't have a problem with my emails or storage space. I have a paid ISP and only had a problem with 1 PTR program that I am in, and finally got that worked out.
I don't know how to use POP3 or OutlookExpress, have had it explained to me several times, but it is just one of those things that is beyond my intelligence... blink.gif

I see nothing wrong with any program restricting their emails going to onsite inboxes only. Look on the bright side, sure would cut down on cheaters that use whatever cheatware there is out there they use. Maybe it will even lead to being able to do away with turning numbers. unsure.gif Who knows.....

I'm glad you took back the word boycott. AYS is a wonderful program. I earn good there, and am awaiting my first check/moneyorder int he mail.
I do not believe that AYS sits around and thinks up ways to delete their members, no matter how many disgruntled ex-members there are out there trying to convince others of this.

At anyrate, just my opinions thrown into the mix here....have a great weekend and a wonderful Valentines Day everyone! smile.gif

AYS is a great program and I commend Linder on his efforts. This rule has to be put into place to ensure that people get paip and it does not go broke. I see AYS as being very health and hope it will be into the future. Good work AYS!

Just a question here. Do any of you protesting this thing EVER go onto the site itself? IMHO if you're being responsible for your account, you should try to at least check in maybe once a week or so. There ARE PTC's on the site for extra earning, there are news posts sometimes, information the po's don't send through mail, ad sales, extra earning opps, and of course it's very wise to double check your account information (especially after updates). And the best thing of all, you can check your refs, earnings, etc.

I guess I just don't get it. Someone is actually TRYING to get through this new SPAM act thing with some good reasoning, and everyone fights it. What is the big deal about logging into your account, when you should be doing it anyway?

Juliet, I guess you're right. Danged if ya do, danged if ya don't. blink.gif
CTaylor
First of all, I wasn't "fighting" it. I simply said that for me, this is a pain.

Here's the thing (again...for me)....

This is the program I signed up for:

Members

? FREE Membership
? Executive Memberships Available.
? Get Paid for Reading Your eMail
? Refer Others and Get Paid
? $50.00 Dollar Payout!
? International Members are Welcome.
? Receive eMail on the best products
? Receive eMail on the best opportunities
? 6 Ref levels of commission under you

Not:

Get Paid for Reading the Site Inbox
Receive Site Inbox on the best products
Receive Site Inbox on the best opportunities

You get the point, hopefully.

I'm not "protesting". Protesting would imply unsubscribing from the program or filing a complaint at GPTBoycott. I'm not doing anything of the kind. It's not my definition of the most convenient plan for me, but I'm too close to payout to go quitting now. smile.gif
Dreamlab
It's regrettable that the situaiton has come to this.

However, I frequent the AYS Forum a lot. And judging from the posts I have read , there's been a fair number of people who said their emails having been bouncing but when that happens they just go to read from the insite, without bothering to even consider changing their email address to prevent the bouncing, and without considering the effect this has on the server.

Anyway, if we use the POP3 interface that will at least hopefully make life a bit easier for those of us who are willing to give it a shot and don't mind an extra step.

When the POP3 interface was first introduced, I posted step-by-step instructions for configuring Outlook Express and Yahoo on the AYS forum (search for POP3 and author=dreamlab). If you want instructions for other web mail clients, I can give it a shot too.

Yes POP3 still works. I use it every day.

I noticed a few people asking if AYS sent a mail about the change to inbox only. Yes they did & if you didn't receive it, common sense should at least tell you that your emails are bouncing.
Im sure lots of people get all of their mail but a lot are still bouncing due to full mail boxes because of the low space provided by free mail servers. But I also think it makes sense to use the inbox or POP3 way to do it when you think about it from some one elses point of view. A lot of people are losing their accounts or just missing alot of mail because of their email service. Perhaps they dont even realize it. Not every one has time to go through the forum and read every thing there to know they could be missing out & causing problems.

I personally receive all of my mail with no problem BUT I like the change. I pay for my ISP & email service through Earthlink but they only allow so much space for my email and I can now use it for some thing else instead of my PTR emails.

AOL allows 15 MB per email & 1000 emails total at a time. Thats alot of space BUT I was only receiving 5 or 6 emails a week from AYS. Yet I received tons from other sites. AOL does what it wants, they dont have a care for what you want in your email.

I dont use Yahoo for PTR email but I have an account there thats filled with spam every time I check it. I know they have a limit too, not sure what it is but its there.

How do you "forget" to check your inbox?!?!?! Do you any idea how much you are losing just by not going to do the PTC section???? Some even have a search section to earn with.

How do you check your earnings or referrals?!?!

It amazes me how much people complain about something that helps them earn a little extra cash so EASY!!!

My cup stay half full!! Does yours!?!?!

Just my 5 cents for AYS smile.gif

I am an AYS member and I have no trouble what so ever with the inbox situation.

Its so much easier to go through several sites at the same time when you are accessing your mail from the site. messages from other sites don't over take the one your trying to click and so forth, if you keep the site, the message and the ad all in the one browser, opening them into seperate tabs you'll wonder why you never thought of it before.
On a personal note I highly recommend AYS to any one and everyone I can
I do how ever become disheartened when people don't sign up to such a good site.
But I guess I now know the reasons why.
And I agree the word "SCAM" is bantied around like its god in text form.
These people need to get a life or grow up.
You'll find that anything worth having is worth waiting for

Hi there.

JuliettNZ you forgot to mention that it is a good way to find inactives.

I have no problem as I like to do p2c and saw the notice on the members page.

The only thing I would like to see AYS do is to put the older e-mails fist so that the can be read as first to last and not last to first as they are now.

The huge disadvantage of this inbox only thingy is that you will find emails up till maybe 5 days old only.... (the oldest ones in my inbox at the moment are from Feb 9).

The emails who came in my email addy remained valid for 30 days ... so advertisers might get a lot less clicks there, as surely not every member will use the pop3 feature ..... dry.gif

I use the POP3 feature and havent had a problem with any of the mails downloaded to it leaving in at all. I dont know how it works doing them directly from the site though. I only go there for the PTC & to check my earnings & referrals.
