Hi There,

I've got a CashCrusader from a friend of mine.
But I still need the mail.header file what is not included.
Can anyone help me?

Thanks.

I don't think you can legally use it, unless your friend is an authorized reseller or something....

I'm not sure what kind of legal agreements are involved with buying a CashCrusader site but...

I can tell you that, legally, when you purchase something that has an intellectual copyright (i.e... A CD, artwork, a website) then the only thing you can't legally do with it without permission is copy/re-distribute/re-sell it.

For the time being, common sense still works in this legal area. If you own something, you can give it to someone else. CashCrusader could legally refuse to honor any warranties or service agreements (although I doubt they would do this) but they can't tell you what you can do with your own property.

Does this mean he could use it and John can't sue him if he just uses it for his own personal use?
I'm a little fuzzy on the legalities of these kinds of things.

Ian, I think he said "scripts" not site. So if someone sold him a copy of johns scripts, NOT the site, then I think he would have problems. Would be like us Selling your add ons and fixes after you did work on our sites, ya know?
Ian
John can't sue him because he legally owns it. The only things you can't legally transfer ownership of as a gift are leases, children and most countries ;-)

It would be stickier if there was some kind of conditional use agreement that MEC site owners had to sign... even then, though, it's doubtful that it would hold up in court.

Johns not going to be suing anyone for using a site they received as a gift in any case. I don't think he's that kind of guy... and even if he was, there isn't enough money involved to even begin to make a lawsuit worth the time and expense.

hmm, if it is a pirated script you can bet most of us will be screaming foul anyway, and online, reputation is everything. He didn't say if he "got it" through buying it or having it given to him however. The only "legal" way to get a CC site is through John or to buy a site already completed.

I didn't consider the piracy possibility... I guess I just kinda figured that everyone knew that was illegal :-)
