here is an email i recieved from Edward Georgen <cooter@station-1.net> aka <station-1@station-1.net>
quote:
I joined emailtraffickingdom under you.

Would you join 4paidmail under me?

http://4paidmail.net/companies.php?ref=

Thanks!

this guy got my email address from an ad i placed with mec-co-op-paid which had my referal link which (of course) includes an email address
it wouldnt be so bad if he had acctually joined ETK but he didn't (untill i started complaining)

after i started complaining i found out that he is part of the admin of 4paidmail.net . (he really should know better) and he believes it isnt spam

i have posted this here for every1 to see what sort of tactics this guy has and to make up their own mind whether to quit his programs, and for the webmasters (who have him as a member) whether they should trust him not to contact all their advertisers with this sort of spam

ps i edited out his referal link id

pps, you edited out his referral ID in the text, but it was still linked to his referral link, so I edited the link. We wouldn't want to give him any free referrals now would we

Not sure if I'm right on this one, but legally spam refers to unsolicited email sent to more than five people.

I doubt such an email could be the basis for account removal on the advertised site.

Spam I believe is any unsolicited commercial e-mail. Technically this would fit since lisa0967 did not give him her e-mail and he would benefit if she signed up under him. For just one e-mail I would not bother reporting him for spam. I would however be PO with his nerve thinking that just because he signed up for something of his own free will (and according to lisa0967 he lied about this) that he figured I owed him something. My response would be to e-mail the webmaster I had placed the ad with and politely inform them that member xxx appeared to be harvesting e-mails from the ads they were sending out. I would also forward a copy of the relevant e-mail. I'm assuming most program owners would not be impressed with this behaviour as it could bring them a lot of bad publicity (through no fault of their own) because members would be upset with receiving e-mails like this and some would probably take it out on the webmaster. My guess, the offending party would receive a warning and if reported a second time would probably have their account deleted.

I would report him. This is like the second one I saw complained about this with the same company.

You're right, I just checked the legislation, it doesnt have to be bulk email in order to be considered illegal.

And indeed, since the person lied about having joined ETK, it could be a mass mail (does this remind anyone of the mails starting with "Hi, I've visited your site and have a couple of questions..."? )

As for the webmaster of 4paidmail, I doubt there's much s/he could do, as long as:
- no one else has complained about it
- there is no way you can prove that the mail wasnt from a referral exchange scheme or something alike.

Just block his email address and forget about it. Is that the only spam you're getting?

Spam Definition:
Unsolisoted Bulk Email
Unsolisoted Commercial Email

Spam As Normally is:
Thank you for posting at my free for all links page!

This is a one time email so there is no need to request Removal from a "List"

----

Real meaning:

You visited a website, put your email address in for some reason, therefore i was sold the email address.

Please Dont reply to this email as i brought your email address fair and square (So i think), and no chance in hell am i going to take you off my list of spam messages!

Your Action:
Do an email to EVERY Link they post, Reporting the spam
Email Their email provider.
Email Their web host about it if they @their-dom.com (go to http://nic.com/cgi-bin/whois.cgi?query=THEIR-DOMAIN-Name.Com there will be a ns1.SomeSite.com & ns2.somesite.com do an who is on the somesite.com if it returns ns1.somesite.com & ns2.somesite.com then thats is their host, otherwise track the root back to the host, and report em )..

Only way to deal with SPAMMERS!

I am probally evil for it,

But every spam message i get, I do it to them!

(i get like 100 + spam emails every single day.. and thats from like 4 main people.. thats what p----es me off so much about spammers )..
cashfiesta
but make sure that the message is not from a mailing list or safelist you joined ; )
freeandeasy
I get a lot of those, things like:
I visited your website....
I saw your ad....
etc.

A lot of them end with a spam disclaimer.
This is a one time mailing...
You are receiving this because at some point you posted at my FFA site.

That latter one is funny. The few times I have posted at FFA sites, I used junk email accounts, NOT the email they are using to send their spam to me.

I like to play with their minds. I send ads back, or I ask them, "Which one of my ads are you responding to?", "Which one of my websites did you visit?".

I just play the innocent. I seldom hear anything back from them, they probably seldom see my reply anyway.

On rare occasions I do hear back.

The other day I received what was clearly a spam mail from somebody who was wanting me to join Cash Evolution. I wrote back and said I'm already in Cash Evolution and I already have a big downline.

The person actually wrote back with a nice letter.

The only spam that makes me furious is porn. I'm reporting all those to Spam Cop.

All other spam I just delete, whether or not I reply. Non-porn is a bit of an annoyance but it's nothing to get worked up over.

1) I did join under you. I replied to you immediately when you contacted me in your ATTACK MODE rather than "there is a problem" mode and tried to explain, but you'd have none of that would you? What if this was a server problem???? Do you go around attacking others when there is a server error??? I bet you do!

2) I sent a friendly note telling you I joined and asked you to look at my program and join it if you would. And that I was adding the program to my site and earn you even more referrals! Nothing but benefits to YOU! You got 100% confirmation that your advertisement worked and that I wanted to work with you to earn both of us more! I wish I could get tons of this type of spam!

2) "Richard" was very much less than helpful in tracking down your complaint when I contacted him. The problem was tracked to differences in server clock versus "Richards" clock and that I sent the email to you from a different top level domain. I joined on that date server time, not "Richards" time. If you and "Richard" would have listened I explained why email is sent from .com and not .net... But no time to listen on your or "Richards" ends, huh??

4) "Richard" searched for that email, not my name. "Richard" himself kept replying to me with different email addresses and when I brought that to his attention the replies stopped from him... Did he see the error on his part and inform you correctly? NOPE! He ignored it and let this escallate.

5) I immediately terminated my account with "Richard" since he rather deny an error on his part than inform you of his mistake.

Since you wish to take this issue to public forum, lets go!
