My isp is upgrading our area and their servers are constantly going down at this time causing many of my accounts to be cancelled due to bounced emails.
I know many gptr programs also experience server problems or down time, so the gptr owners SHOULD be sensitive to this sort of problem, so why are they so hard on those who have e-mails bounce???
I understand there are many inactive accounts and it is a lot of work for the gptr owners to get so much bounced mails, but this is in NO WAY my fault that servers go down, and I am sure I can not be the ONLY one with this complaint, I live in a MAJOR metro area and use a MAJOR isp provider and when mine goes down it is usually the entire area that goes out also.
Then just try writing to an gptr owner explaining this problem, they either say tough or just do not answer emails at all.
I guess it is kinda good for them because they get to keep all the $$ I earned for themselves.

Aww, ok in defense of those webmaster who have a "bounce" rule. Bandwidth fees often include emails sent. When several hundred or even a 1000 emails are bouncing back and forth between servers it costs us.
I do not have that rule on my sites because I am not a hypocrite :X I do mostly manage to keep my personal account clean, and of course the webmaster and support mail gets hit first, however I have an address for safelists etc that goes over the top frequently, and I am online 12-16 hours a day. I really can't expect members who have actual lives to keep their boxes squeeky clean. Now a user unknown error will get my attention, but not immediate removal. If it is user unknown for over 2 weeks, they are removed.(Well, mostly, if they really have a low click through and no referrals... think I am TOO soft but hey)
I have been getting a LOT of "I am going on vacation for a week, please don't take my account" and I am going in the hospital, please don't delete me"
People really shouldn't have to worry about losing their acount with us when facing surgery

I feel exactly the same way that Mary does.
I'm not going to delete someone just because their mail bounces.
I do delete them when they use an autoresponder for their email address, and also if the mail has bounced several times because the user is unknown.
Other than those two scenarios, I am very lenient.

Well, I am so glad you are TOO soft Emaillionairesemail & freeandeasy
I wish more were like that....
I keep my mailbox clean, so it wasn't a full mailbox, my mails were being returned user unknown
Here are the 3 that cancelled me after just 1 bounce:
monster-email
webcashmail
inboxbucks

monster-email reinstated my account, but scolded me and said it could only be reinstated once and no more, so I guess I'm outta luck if my isp goes down again

Thanks for letting me vent and for "listening"
venomx
What I do is every month look for accounts via FTP that have not been touched in over a month. Say when I do it soon here this month Ill delete accounts that have not earned or refered someone since March.

Hey Netsurfer, I finally found your post and I was just wondering....did any of the programs tell you they were deleting you (monster-email,
webcashmail, inboxbucks), or did you find out because you wrote them and got a response? I was mainly wondering because of that InboxBucks problem I was having and wondering if the webmistress maybe attributes that to the nature of my login problem, though at the time I was getting email just fine from everyone else. So far, still no response from her, that's why.

dragonfly,
I found out when I tried to log in and couldn't, I wrote and asked why I couldn't log in, only 2 answered my letters, I never heard back from inboxbucks and wrote numerous letters regarding the issue. Monster reinstated my account, webcash said I had to resign up and I never heard from inbox
