IF you notice your computer running funny better go to House Call for a scan

I have had this stinking virus 3 times in two days and it is comming from various ptc sections some jerk is advertising this in the banner sections. it does not damage your computer all the information on it says its risk is low but it is becomming a pain in the butt making hard drive run in circles as you try to click. Grisoft could not find it so i used the house call and it did dont know if nortons or macafee will catch it.

I also had to try and do a restore on my computer. The trojan virus came in my email ads that I read. Not sure which banners, etc it was in. McAfee caught some of them, House Call caught a few, but the best one I found was a free online scan at pandas software. They found files on my computer that the other two couldnt locate or scan. All together in less than two days I have 11 trojan viruses!!! I wasn't too happy!

And to think I am running a Security program on my computer and still got it! I hope you don't have any more problems. My restore is damaged unless I go back to square one and start over. I will eventually have to do this. However, the viruses are now deleted and GONE!

Good Luck!

Can someone list the links for the programs above. My computer seems to be acting funny too.

Someone is advertising TickledPink on CashDelight--twice now I've clicked it and been told by my Norton that I got the download.trojan, but that it was unable to get rid of it. I don't click that anymore. Beware.

I'd like those links, too, if anyone has them.

I clicked on a thread on this site recently and a virus alert popped up. I left the site went back to the thread and it happened again! Couldn't delete either. mad.gif

This is the link to the thread, I think the thread should be deleted.

I am running Panda right now, and so far all is well. Norton hasn't popped up in quite a long while, no harm in double checking.

here are some files you can use the fid feature to check to see if they are there. These are what house call found DO NOT DELETE ON YOUR OWN unless you know how I posed these so that if you are running anyother virus engion and its not showing up you can check for these to see if you need to use house call.

pup.exe
3VS.exe
FPODBCV.exe
DBCJETO.exe
erisignpub1v.exe

Here is the link to the site

Thanks for the links to panda and house call. I have used panda in the past and had forgotten about it. I am off to have my computer scanned.

I have received THREE Trojans from paid-email-from-the-great-white-north.

I hate to have to post it here, but I even copied & pasted the link and I have not received a reply from the webmaster.

Advertisers are not maintaining their pcs when they send ads to him.

My doom is also linking to downloads of everykind.

I darn near strangled my teen daughter when I caught her downloading off Kaazaa. The mydoom is on Kaazaa and Kaaza lite.

What I hate is I don't know who has this back door virus, not everyone is taking the extensive time it takes to check this out.

lol now i am getting registry keys installed from several sites adware is calling them browser hijackers unsure.gif so you better start running adware more often and keeping its dat files uptodate

What also helps is the following:

Start - Run - type "msconfig"

The last tab, startup, contains all programs that are started when Windows boots. You can deselect them. Now, some are supposed to be there but some fishy ones are quite easy to spot (dialers, trojans). Once disables, restart your computer. When the darn things are still there or re-enabled after the reboot, i would consider re-installing your system and install a anti-virus prog before you install anything else or browse the web.

I had this winpup virus too several times over the past weeks.
A CashDelight PTC for countrycash and/or TickledPink like pan23
said (with retardedinternetgeek popup) is suspect.
And maybe also PTC's at WishForMoney and TDGP.

AVG missed it but Trend Micro House Call got rid of it (every time).
I think my firewall blocks it, as long as it is up (but it tends to crash every now and then).
I'll go and see if Panda ActiveScan finds even more than House Call now.
update: Panda found nothing more after running House Call

I thought I was the lucky one in this whole thing. Haven't gotten a virus in over 7 years. I didn't get online until 5pm today and when I did, I had over 60 virus mails. Most were sent to my business site and sent to names that don't even exist. Some were from PTR's I don't belong to. So I ran Housecall and came up with 16 infected files. Guess thats what happens when you have 7 kids using the 'puter and cannot nail into their heads not to download attachments. sad.gif
Good luck all, this is not a cool thing. BTW, Yahoo will not send anything through that has the following:
a.. test
b.. hi
c.. hello
d.. Mail Delivery System
e.. Mail Transaction Failed
f.. Server Report
g.. Status
h.. Error
Just for your info.
Hugs,
Kim

Hi,

I also recommend picking up CWShredder. It's updated every day or two and picks up a lot of the browser hijackers and suck.

Do a read on that site, the "chronicles" of the CoolWebSearch hijacker is scary!

I run it every day now.

i also got lot alerts should be very careful these days about virus.
AlexRisa
I also keep getting a trojan (again with retardedinternetgeek popup) from PTC's for NutCase Mail.
Luckily my firewall blocks it, but not everyone has one.

I also saw that 'werule' in my firewall program list.
