Okay, so here's what is written, quite clearly, on the gold membership information page of InboxDollars:
"Becoming a Gold Member guarantees you a fixed percentage of these referrals!" (Speaking, of course, of the people that sign up without using someone's referral link)
I became a gold member...not something I do, ordinarily, but I wanted to see how well it operated...turns out, it doesn't operate well AT ALL!!!
When I signed up for the gold membership, I almost immediately in the span of about 48 hours got two referrals...since then, not a single referral...IT'S BEEN A MONTH, PEOPLE!!!!
Do you mean to tell me that in 48 hours (conveniently, the 48 hours just after I had signed up!!) they got enough new members that they could give me two, then in the past month they haven't gotten ANY?!?!? I dunno, maybe it's the conspiracy theorist in me, but something just stinks, here.
They've killed the notion of gold memberships for me...

Anyone got any thoughts about this? :frown:

i've been a free member of inbox dollars for about 8 or so months and i have only seen about 2 emails this year.... they were ok for the first month or two but since then nothing
rwbruce2k
Actually, I've gotten several emails from them (not an incredible amount, by any description, but more than some) since becoming a member on March 5, 2002...a total of 23...but it appears that neither of my two proxy referrals (until it is proven to me otherwise, I can't for a second believe they are real) have ready ANYTHING! I just get the feeling they're running a scam with their gold memberships.

The Gold Membership script on a CAC site randomly uses your referral url for people visiting the site. I have noted a few bugs in mine, which appear out of nowhere and I have to go into ftp to fix. It is a pain in the neck. Maybe (?) they have technical problems.

With many Gold Memberships you can build a bigger downline with a paid ad somewhere else for the same amount of money.

Gotta check them out beforehand. I have been burned too!

I've been Gold member of InboxDollars almost since they added the option. I had 144 referrals mostly due to the Gold until recently when they cleaned the database of inactive users and still have over 50.

As far as not getting much mail, I get 1-2 a day. This is not a CAC site, it is targeted. Go into your members area and reset your interests, even to subjects you are not interested in. Pick the most popular subjects you see advertised on the net all day long.

Not too impressed with the $5 referral policy-sounds too much like InboxCash and Cashread-meaning your referral has to cashout b4 you get the bucks. All-in-all it IS a good program and I have been paid many times.

I have to agree that the gold membership for InboxDollars is by far the worst gold membership I have taken out with any program.
Total waste of time.
A while back they promised thousands of new referrals for gold members - I got 2!
Their last 2 emails have been non paid, it must be 2 or 3 months since I received a paid email from them.
The only other emails from them are paid to join offers, about one a month.

I still say it's a good program. I'm just about ready to cashout again.

To address some concerns:

The Gold Membership offered by InboxDollars has been returned to some members ten-fold. That said, we have been in operation nearly three years, and obviously have many gold members. With more gold members, that means less referrals for everyone. I would not recommend the gold membership to anyone expecting to see their investment returned in the first few months.

As far as number of emails received: InboxDollars consistently sends around 5 emails per week, to US members. While we'd certainly like to send ALL members 5 emails per week, advertisers simply aren't as interested in advertising to international members as they are to US members. We do, however, send as many emails as possible to our members.

If you have any further concerns, please feel free to post -- I will do my best to answer them.

Hang on a sec, is this Cotterweb?

As, you said you owned InboxDollars?

Just how many accounts do you have in this forum?

It doesn't matter how many sites you own, you simply can't have multiple accounts in this forum (to which you obviously do) there are many WM's that have 5, 6 7 or 8 sites, but they don't have a forum name/membership for everyone of them.

Yes, since I run two separate businesses, I created separate accounts for them. The two cotterweb accounts are a mistake. I was not aware this type of mistake was punishable by death, as you seem to wish for.

I don't have the time to be harassed for such trivial matters. I sincerely apologize for trying to answer members' concerns. I will take care of my duplicate accounts immediately. I apologize to you, Jaikula, and you, Brian, for my horrible mistake of creating separate accounts to avoid confustion.

Well, I cancelled my Inbox Dollars Gold membership when they increased their minimum from $10 to $20 about a year ago.
I still claim it was the worst gold membership I have ever taken out and can remember that I only ever got a paid email every month or so, most mails were for paid to join.
Whatever happened to all those thousands of new members promised to gold members - they didn't materialise did they!

Again - waste of time

AWESOME!

He thinks that having more than 1 account is OK!!!!!!

Now we all know that it is just a "trivial matter" that we should not be bothered with.

I guess he won't be deleting members who more than 1 account at his programs now, huh?

Rules are rules, wether you get paid by a program or not.
