hello all,
there is this person who keeps sending me the same mail, with only the line 'where about on the globe do you reside'. I don't know who he is, why he is asking me this or whether this is to be considered spam. does anybody recognize this email or know anything about it?? If it is a person of this forum who means it well, please do not be offended!
thank you! Ilse

I've gotten it too. It looks like an attempt to build a list by harvesting emails from people who request them by replying to that mailing.

never, I repeat never do a reply to this kind of e-mail ..
once I replied .. and then .... then .. never seen so much spam in my inbox .. just ignore it .. or .. or generate bounce e-mail .. .. so that the sender thinks that the e-mail is bounced and is not valid .. actually that's a way to avoid spam messages .. reply with 'bounced e-mail' .. and you'll be free of spam .. LOL!

I got 4 of them the last 3 days. It didn't come with viruses. Don't reply to any strange emails. That will open up the door for people to spam you.

Just dont reply to this lamer.
Either ignore him ,

and block him.
I received his message 5 times.

Hm. sounds like a really efficient way to stuff people's inboxes with spam. How terrible. Is there a way to stop it other than not replying?

maybe you can send it to me .. usually I do that stuff by hand .. .. it's rather hard ..
Actually I think that this is the best way to fight with spam .. but .. in order to be sure, I guess you have to bounce back some 10 mails in a row .. I mean each time you get a message, you have to bounce it back .. ..

I replied a few months back. He's from Ireland, I don't exactly remember what he was selling but it was a kind of affiliate programme.

Yes, Mr James Beattie from a little place on the globe called Ireland sends us this crap regular.
I believe he is the one who hacked clickity cash a while back as it always comes to the address I used to join clickity and it always comes to the address that Emailsformoney used.
I ALWAYS reply to his crap but you really don't want to know what I reply with - just to say choice words.
I also report him for spam every time but nothing ever seems to be done about it.

I got this too and I replied [yes, yes I know]. I was just interested to know where he would go from there. I responded with "Birmingahm, UK" or something [not where I live]and he told me he was from a "little dot on the globe called Ireland". He directed me to a site and I went out of curiosity [yes, I KNOW!!]and it's some MLM plan, with a 20 minute presentation. The pres. is quite good, but you can buy that pres. to put on any old MLM Op.
The thing is, in the e-mail "James" told me that he wanted to be friends and hey, who knows, even business partners! James also told me he was one of the five richest men in the world. I wrote to my pal James to ask him to send me proof of his earnings but you know what? I never heard back. The funny thing is, I got the exact same e-mail from another guy, replied again [look, I KNOW, alright?!]and got the same reply. And you know what? This guy also lives in Ireland and is also one of the five richest guys on the planet. What a coincidence eh? I never knew Ireland was such a lucrative place to live.
P.S. I really came here to ask if anyone knows a PaidToRead Emails site with loads of UK members. I use EmailPaysU and I'm very happy with them but I'm running out of UK folk.
I'd be really grateful for a quick private e-mail. Many thanks.

Raine, that made me laugh! I replied to the guy too, James Beattie, what, back in Dec? Jan? And yes, just a couple days ago got that email again. Makes 3 times. I just block sender.
I think we should start a support folder for 'where on the globe do you reside' with email notices turned on and sent to that addy... We can post every day!

I just now got that e.mail. It was titled "Origin" and was signed "Buck Campbell". Then this was at the bottom:
