Mec-Co-Op-Paidmail now has insufficient funds in her PayPal account to pay all members who requested payment so she has suspended the cash redemption button until she has sufficient funds through advertisers payments to continue paying members.

Thoughts:
Makes us wonder why don't she fund her PayPal with eCheck or bank transfer since its free. Instead she rather delay payments & wait for advertisers to pay.

Another PTR that loses money, Coppercoins.net is going down too.

I'm doing random payments, people with false addresses no payout information will not get paid on tombmailer. It's much easier and much faster to payout that way.

I also I refuse to leave that much money in my paypal account, especially with the fraud problems going on right now, they got into my ebay account and made a 1700 auction, i have to change all my bank informatio and make a new bank account somewhere had, to close all my credit cards out. I took the money out of paypal because i'm paranoid right now seeing that ebay bought paypal

I know this guy thinks i'm dumb because he's or someone else has tried to get me to put my information in for paypal (a security check thing) and egold. Paypal told me that that email was fraud so i'm guessing these egold changes are the same but not sure and i'm not going to find out , I'll go to the website myself and chage my information. This guy is trying hard and is determined to get my info.

So yes i'm guilty of this also I will pay when an advertiser makes a payment , this way $15 will go to 3 members (at random if they put there information in) and than my paypal account is 0 so who ever is lurking about in my accounts can't spend didly. Right now the less I have the better off I am, without this guy making me go into the hole.

only accounts that have there information filled in , the only request and redemption that will happen on tombmailer are the advertising redemptions and i took those down because I can't send them out right now.

I don't even know who this guy is but he also changed my online bank password 3 times on me, and these were hard passwords, so i don't how he got it or how he changed anything and he even put a different cc on file on ebay under my name. I've contacted ebay to do something about this, and to cancel my account but ebay still charging the card, than they refunded the card now they want the balence again

I really can't deal with this and this ###### stalker , I also think this guy is trying to get into my computer because when I ran ip scan his ip showed up as trying to get in thru the firewall

okay, maybe I'm wrong, but don't advertisers have to pay BEFORE their ads are run? Why didn't she keep that money to pay members and her costs?? ( I don't belong to either program, so I am not familiar with the webmaster)

1) if we left all monies in paypal from advertising we wouldn't be able to promote our programs nor pay hosting fees. Most of us have to supplement with earnings from another job to support our programs.

2) lessee, members don't want to pay much for ads but they assume that all ads pay for themselves! HAHAHAHA! Do the math, folks. No-one is buying ads right now, but the bills keep coming. Go figure.

3) Rhea is right, it's not good to leave it all in PayPal.

4) Carole isn't greedy, I don't know what happened with her and Pluto, but she's not trying to 'keep all the money', although she did, IMHO, make a mistake offering all those high paying links with the low payout.

5) Until you actually own and run a program for a while, day in and day out, please refrain from being insulting.

Well, I am a webmaster and I know that whatever money comes in from the site goes right back into the site. If that were what she was doing there wouldn't be a problem. Billiev is right. It doesn't take a webmaster to figure out what is going on here.

The problem is people who insinuate things about someone's character without actually knowing what they are talking about. Then asserting that they know what they are talking about to defend their baseless accusations, but still, no credible proof, no basis for their opinion, really, but hearsay and their own ego. I was not referring to you at all.

Now, Pluto's opinion, I trust. She evidently had a bad experience and without knowing the details, I can't comment on that. But my point was that overall, Carole is a good person. I don't think she's just taking the money and running.

There's a long history of business decisions with Mec and Coppercoins that most people aren't privy to that has led up to this. She will recover.

It is very, very hurtful to have people immediately cast aspersions on one's character when something like this happens. I generally make jokes about it when people do it to me, but in this case I felt the need to speak up for Carole. None of us are perfect. Most of us are members like you as well as program owners.

And at times, carole does come off rude to others. Maybe because of what happened to her site earlier this year? But, one thing for sure, nobody should say anything bad about other programs. That means even Carole as well. She did opened a can of worms lately, and now, I am seeing fighting all over all these forums between webmasters using CC scripts and webmasters who uses CAC scripts. This has to stop.

I'm with you on this one Brenda. There are plenty of programs out there but only a few great ones, Mec-co-op, PocketJingle and Penniesbyemail are three of mine. I don't know everything that's happened, same as most other people, but I like Carole and don't think that she would do this deliberately.

Heck, if anyone should be mad with her it should be me, I'm $0.39 off payout and I've reached that without referrals but I'm sure that she will eventually get this sorted out.

just a lil last comment to this 'story':

I didn't say that Carole deleted my account to hold back earnings (i only once said, that it is much easier to delete than first checking if it is ok, and so it is also cheaper for her - but didn't meant that this was her first goal with deleting )

But i still say, it is the responsibility of a webmaster, to make sure, that the scripts he/she is using are really doing that, what they should, when they use them.
And one more lil suggestion, Carole: If the structure of your database is nearly the same like those with the php-scripts and you made backups let's say every 2 days, you can also check (with a lil tricky thinking about) that i told you the truth about what date the files are reading or had read the time about 3 weeks ago).

when i had read a mail on aug. 30th, and the mail was sent on aug. 15th, and when i'm right that the program counts the date, when the mail was sent and not when i readed it, then you should see that date 15th aug. in the backup-file from aug. 30th but NOT in the backup file from i.e. aug. 20th

But you don't need to search for it anymore, i canceld my account and it's over now for me

Carole of mec-co-op and coppercoins is a very good person and she is also very honest. I trust her very much and I am sure she will come out of the red very soon.

#1 yes pluto's account got deleted for 30 days inactivity (according to the scripts(right or wrong)

#2 Pluto asked to be re-instated.

I had her sign up again and promissed to put back earnings if she'd tell me what they were

2 days later (with no response as to what the earnings were) she cancelled her account because i didn't put earnings back.

Then comes here to post all sorts of negativity about me.


Had she told me what the ###### earnings were, they'd have been back in her account.
(That was at mec-co-op if i remember correctly)

I'll give you another example

A webmaster with the biggest downline got deleted for 30 days inactivity.
She was inactive, and even admitted that with so many programs it was hard to keep track.

I've paid her $50 five times.

I had her re-sign up, spent 2 days finding referrals without an upline, found big downlines to put under her.

She's sitting now with 1597 members in her downline
and guess what?????????
SHe's 28 days inactive again.

WEll if you think i'm gonna let it alone when it hits 30 days, you've got another thing coming

THose 1597 will end up in downlines of Gold Members
because in 2 days her account is history and i'm not re-instating it, nor am i gonna take another 2 days to fix it.

I find it very insulting that she would do this since it's been 29 days since i went thru all this trouble.

I've had 3 other offers for someone to purchase coppercoins from me, but i turned them down because i wanted to make sure the members got paid.

When i saw that Caroline was interested in tombmailer (which she did purchase) i offered to give her coppercoins free if she'd take over the liability.
She agreed to this and it's hers now.

She will be re-launching it Thursday or Friday after she does all her editing.

Caroline is trustworthy. And most of coppercoins members have $5 or less in their accounts so i felt she'd have plenty of time to generate reveneue for payouts.

Caroline decided she wants to pay everyone upfront, regardless of balance, so she can start with a clean slate.

I think that's very generous of her, and i'm glad i made the decision to give it to her.

Of course i'm still here to help and advise but i think it's much better than shutting down the site.

Hi! I am new here. I think it's better to be upfront with your members. That is just my opinion. I don't know the whole story, because like I stated earlier, I am new.

The webmaster is terrible! She keeps changing the terms, instead of 1-cent links (for which I have signed up) she always and mostly sends 1/10 cent links and they used to be timed!!!!! not for a second, but almost all for 30 seconds!

(Unlike Tombmailer, whose cheapest links are timed to 7 or 5 seconds only)

Madame taxlady usually spends all the money on various programs, where she tries to get as much money as possible.

My opinion is that she is not fair to the members of mec-cop....program. You never know what the next day or even email will bring.

#1 you don't have any idea of what you're talking about.

1. When mec-co-op launched payout was $50
2. On Sept 15, 2002 payout was dropped to $10 after anyone who had a $20 signup bonus used it for either an ad or gold membership or forfeitted it.

3. On May 15, 2003 I lowered payout to $3

So who's trying to screw anyone out of anything. I f i wanted to do that, i would have left payout at $50.

Ok now for some facts....

1/10th links are no longer timed at all, that lets people who want to advertise cheap the opportunity, but they risk it with cheap links, as people like you prefer the higher links.

I have received numerous e-mails that say the members love the site, cheap links in all....

I personally hate cheap links, b ut hey, there's over 400 sites to compete with, so i need to run them.

When i make changes, the members benefit, not me.

I've paid out over $1400 this week, all revenue for ads, plus any affiliate earnings i get from my affiliate sites, and all search revenue generated from my search page back to members.

So before you start smashing a webmaster, any webmaster, get your facts straight.

ANother issue needs addressing.

The only people i see complaing about me not answering support questions have had all my responses bounced back to me either because their isp is blocking me, or their mailboxes are full.

I respond to each and every support question

For example, hotpop.com blocks me, sina.com blocks me, buildreferrals, my isp blocks and won't let me send thru outlook.

I have notified members of this, and if they choose to keep those addys then i don't feel it's my problem.
I have requested they change them to something not blocking me, or in the case of buildreferrals.com something else so i can respond.

So again, please get your facts straight.

I just love the one badmouthing me in this thread, who clearly states they aren't a member nor do they know anything about me, but they just couldn't resist the opportunity to jump in.

When advertisers give me money for advertising on my search engine, I try and get all the payments out as soon as possible so that I can then get my money safe in the bank.

Also those random payouts rhea mentioned, I have had 2 random payments.

Hi I'm not a webmaster but I have run my own business. As for they cant pay the people when they cash out. That's a big problem to me. Frist rule of running any business is to have enough money to keep you going for 1 year out of your pocket that covers your fees and costs. Add money that comes in the money that is clicked should be put aside. You have been paid for it keep the half that is profit and people earning in different accounts. There is no reason why your group cant get paid when they reach payout. I know that makes me upset when the site sayes payout at $10 and you have $20 in account and still not been paid for the first $10. To me that is mismanagement of funds.
One thing that I notice on alot of sites is points adds. To me they are usless. If you offer points add for points you get no money coming in for these adds. What is the sense of that.Remember the people in the group are #1 they make the money for you. You do get some cheaters. But what makes people mad is changing the payouts all the time. $5.00 payout Sorry I have to change to $10.00. Sign up bonus Dont offer it if you will not pay it out when they reach the mark. Like one I noticed the other day I went for my payout your min payout is $6.00 I have a $5.00 sign up bonus but I can only get $1 of it with the cashout. If you are not going to payout the bonus when they reach the min then dont offer it. Look at the add prices on site I seen you can buy a 1/4 cent add to all for $14.00. The member count was 7452 now do the math at .25 cent per person the owner losses $4.63. The add should be charged for $20.00 so that they make something from it.
This is just what I have been told in the world of business.

and if you're so great a business owner, did you notice that the date this thread started was 6 months ago, and many changes were made since then (for the better).

yeah, i agree. she's too honest and can come off as blunt at times but she's great. i may not like her changing her terms everytime or the fact that she can't make up her mind to convert points every week or once every 3 months or that she doesn't allow more than 30 days of vacation but so what, she pays and that's good enough for me.
