Many psychics and astrologers make a list of predictions at the end of each year. If you see one, kindly copy and post it here.
If you are a psychic, trend-watcher or futurologist yourself (amateur or pro), your contributions are welcome, but I'd like to avoid everyone posting their guess about whether something will happen or not, making this thread pages and pages long.
(also kindly stick to non-GPT related things; if you want to post your predictions about that, feel free to start a thread in the general discussion forum)

If I'm still around here next year, I'll revive the thread to see how well the predictions matched reality.

The Other Side
Psychic Sylvia Browne (sylvia.org) who is pictured below, returned to C2C to offer predictions and share tales from "the other side." Among her forecasts are the death of Saddam Hussein by the end of this year, a Democratic president elected in 2004, and the possible eruption of the volcano at Yellowstone within the next 3-4 months. "I think the whole thing is gonna blow," she said.

SOPHIA'S PREDICTIONS FOR 2004

?Paul McCartney may be in for some emotional stormy weather. With the birth of his latest child, power struggles could go on involving his grown children.

?Career wise, Will Smith will be on a roll. However, it looks like there may be some bumps in his home life. Major changes are on the horizon.

?Lisa Marie Presley may finally find a satisfying career, but her love choices remain poor. This time she could meet someone as a result of her new venture.

?You could find Sean Connery behind the camera, rather than in front of it. Don?t be surprised if he channels his creative energies into something completely different.

SOPHIA HAS ACCURATELY PREDICTED MAJOR EVENTS AROUND THE GLOBE!

? Prince Charles continues his romance with Camilla, but does not marry her.

? A series of tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, and floods makes the summer of 1999 one of the most tumultuous in history.

Hope u dont mind me commenting.

The channel tunnel terrorist attempt was about the only thing I could foresee for the future (that was before I saw this thread btw, I was thinking about it a few days ago)

Some of those Jill Harrison ones are a bit daft in my opinion, floods in the UK in the spring? We always have floods in the spring rolleyes.gif Cure for breast cancer is always being reported yearly. Major fires in australia, again that happens every year, would be more unusual if it was predicted no fires in australia in a given year.

Some of the others are interesting, Bush assasination in one person's prediction and a democrat being elected president in another person's predictions, maybe they fit together?

I'm with you.
Most psychic's predictions for the new year never come true.
The one or two out of a hundred that they get right is played up for all it's worth: "See! I got it right!".
But they conveniently ignore the dozens they got wrong.

Or they word it like, "You could see..." or "It may happen that". It's all a joke, anyway. Same thing with horoscopes. Any of them on any given day could apply to any person anywhere. It's a multi-billion dollar market, though. People keep paying and people keep getting rich.

Gee, maybe all these psychics can tell us WHERE Bin Laden is or perhaps they could predict which numbers will come in an win all kinds of money to donate to saving the rain forests and feeding the hungry, they're so concerned about 'helping' everyone.... dry.gif

Having said what I did though, I do still love reading the predictions. My mum always used to buy Old Moore's Almanac, maybe I will buy a copy if I see it this year. We had a good thread about people 'seeing' what could happen in the future so maybe one or two predictions might come true. It's the silly ones that bother me. It would be interesting to get a few more up here and look back in a years time smile.gif

Some darned interesting predictions there:

U.S. and Canada will hire thousands of school kids armed with tiny art brushes, to pollinate forests and grasslands... but the project pollination will fail, and most the life on this planet will slide into extinction...

Greenhouses will prosper. Remaining farms will begin to fence in fields with 12 foot chain link fencing, with fields patrolled by guard dogs.

City people escaping the cities will run into starving hoodlums who murder vehicle occupants, for their fuel, food, clothing, and meat.

Highway travel will be done in armed caravans.

Larry asked a caller from Yonkers why she had asked Sylvia about "fault," and Sylvia very softly and quickly whispered to Larry "She's afraid it was a suicide." The caller immediately stated, "It was a car accident," and Sylvia smoothly changed tack and continued, as if she'd known that all along, "Yeah, she was trying to veer off from something." Note: all of this procedure is in exact conformance with the methods offered in Ian Rowland's book, "The Full Facts Book of Cold Reading," which we mentioned last week.

Larry asked me, as I expected, what's the harm in what Sylvia does? Let me give you an example, sent to me by a viewer. Many months ago, on another show that featured Sylvia as a guest, the grandmother of a local missing child was also on the program. The child was a six-year-old named Opal Jo Jennings, from north Texas. She had been in the news a lot because of her disappearance. On national TV, Sylvia said that the child was still alive but had been sold into white slavery and was currently in Japan! She even gave a city name. But there is no city in Japan by that name. Currently, there is a man sitting in prison in Texas who has confessed to Opal Jo's abduction. "What's the harm?" How about false hope? To tell such a far-out and freaky tale just for TV ratings....?

from an interview with Susan Miller, Author of The Year Ahead 2004 (Barnes & Noble Books, 2003)
QUOTE
Q: Is there an overarching theme that you see for 2004?
Susan Miller: 2004 will be remarkable in that it will bring an unusual amount of harmony among the planets. The result is a stable year that will allow us to regroup, build on what we started in 2003, as well as to strengthen our confidence.

Q: How Should Readers Use 'The Year Ahead 2004?'
Susan Miller: I would love readers to know that 'The Year Ahead 2004' is not meant to be a seasonal book that should only be read at the beginning of the year. The universe doesn't work on our timetable of January 1 - it commences events on its own schedule. For example, in 2004, the most critical months - the ones where you will see the most startling developments - will be in September and October.

Q: Is there one sign that you think has a better astrological forecast than others for 2004, a sign where you might say, "This is YOUR year?"
Susan Miller: The celestial favorite in 2004 will be Virgo, and it gives me great pleasure to announce that, as Virgo suffered over the past few years (2001-2003), particularly in their career. Last year, 2003, required an emotional adjustment in a romantic or other close relationship as well. Now the universe will do a 'correction' and put Virgo on top of the mountain.
Later in the year, beginning in late September 2004, Libra will receive the crown from Virgo, and Libra's good fortune will run through much of 2005. As Libra enters 2004, this sign's situation is not entirely easy, as they are being challenged on many fronts that I detail in the book. It is often the case that when a sign is hammered for a long time, there is a rebalancing of energies, and it can be quite dramatic when it occurs. That is what is about to happen to Libra later this year.

some of the near-future events from Bible Code interpretations:
2004: Beginning of the 7-year "Tribulation Period" heralded by a catastrophic event occurring around July 4th.
According to Joseph Noah's calculations, four billion lives will be lost during the "Tribulation Period". The Great War, he explains, will pit a 10-nation Middle Eastern-Asian alliance against the United Nations.

The Bible Code predicts a Second Attack on NYC:
BIBLE CODE MATRIX III
NYC: 2004 - Guided Missile -- Fire

(undated:) Arafat will be assassinated by a member of Hamas (one of his own) for attempting to make peace.
(undated:) Bin Laden will be captured while moving from one headquarters to another and then killed, but the jihad will continue.

2005: Increased chaos, turbulent weather.
there will be smallpox plague in 2005 (due to terrorists) which will kill 14,700 people.

2006: Major earthquake in Los Angeles.
World War III will start in 2006 (the first nuke will be in Israel).

2011: Asteroids hit Russia and the U.S. causing pole shifts;
? ? ? ?? beginning of the "Armageddon" war

Take note that the two leading mathematicians of the Bible Code (Rips and Witztum) have distanced themselves from the author of the Bible Code books, Michael Drosnin, saying you shouldn't use the bible codes for predicting the future.

Unfortunatelt because these weapons exist the danger is there especially with suicide bombers and fanatics. I spent 2 years studying nuclear civil defence. Unfortunately if people cant got to work they cant get paid so they cant buy food. It does pay to take basic precautions and store some food. It may only be a small strike and services might be able to be restored in 3 or 4 weeks. It is worth making an attempt. I may publish what I learnt one day, but dont have time now. I did my study before the internet started. That will help with info. But you have to prepare and educate yourself a little first.

  • many important people will do big things and be in the news
  • entertainers will entertain a whole lot of people
  • a bunch of people will watch sporting events and be happy/sad when their team wins/loses

I went through this stage, fearful of nuclear war. No one can really predict the future. 88 people just got killed on our roads this last 10 days. Did they know they were going to be the one? No. Hey ii could be next. I think I just had a strange dream. An older man was close next to me. he said "I have got a message from your father. Remember when you were at school and how good it was to smoke?" Just then the alarm clock went off and I didnt get to finish. But I guess it was enough.

88 people just got killed on our roads this last 10 days. Did they know they were going to be the one? No.

Did their ego know? No, or they wouldn't have stepped in the car unless it was suicide. Did their souls see it coming? Yes, in most cases.
Is driving a car amongst the most riskful of human activities? Yes, and we don't need a prophet to tell us that.
Did the majority of drivers, aware of this realistic risk, choose a car in the safest color: silver (or yellow according to another study)?

I believ my father is happy with the way I turned out. When my van was stolen I was very upset because I had invested all I had and neded it for the vending business. I came back, had a dream and my father said to me, "dont be surprised if he gives you a tip". I saw the workplace again. Well the van itself was a gift fron a male friend. When I woke up I knew I was going to get the van back. I found it in a street!!! I think my father likes my little business because most of that was bought from the same friend. (he sold a house for $560,000 and gave me the van and about $20,000

I hope she gets her van back again.
Let's cooperate:
Matt.18
19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
Say with me: "Dear God, we ask You in the name of Your son Jesus Christ, do justice unto the thief who stole Pam's van, and return the van to her."
(That's not a selfish question, is it? Surely Pam deserves her van more than a thief who broke the commandment 'thou shalt not steal'?)
Can any of the psychics amongst you help her locate her van?

I'm posting this again (I did recently in another thread) as a lesson from the Lord for us all:
Matthew 6:19-34
19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 For after all these things do the Gentiles seek: for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

article from HindustanTimes.com (Sunday, December 28, 2003):
QUOTE
Star speak
By Vimmy Sinha

As the curtain falls on another year, soothsayers are once again busy gazing at stars to tell you what the new year has in store for you. Astrologers predicted 2003 would not be good worldwide. It sort of came true. We saw the American invasion of Iraq, at home we witnessed riots and lost Kalpana Chawla. But the coming year, 2004, seems to be a positive year, at least that?s what the astrologers and tarot card readers have to say.

Here?s what some well known astrologers have to say about the new year.

Ajai Bhambi
How did he decide on astrology as a profession? "I have been very intuitive from a very young age. I could predict many incidents without really having a clue about them," says Bhambi, who grew up in a remote village in Madhya Pradesh. Despite the acknowledgement of his powers, Bhambi did not take formal training in astrology. He studied law and even practised as a lawyer for a couple of years at the High Court. "But I did not enjoy it at all." His book Be Your Own Astrologer, published by Wisdom Tree, demystifies the symbols and signs of astrology.

Some predictions for the new year by Ajai Bhambi:
Will she become the next Prime Minister of the country? He predicts that Sonia Gandhi will soon take a backseat in politics - a move to introduce her children into politics.

Since 2004 is election year, Bhambi predicts that the ruling party will once again be the Bharitya Janata Party but the Congress will give them a good fight.

Internationally, George Bush is likely to be in an awkward position as the year begins.

There are chances of an air crash/disaster around April-May. There will be a general air of uneasiness during these months.

Overall, 2004 will also be good for the economy.

MA PREM RITAMBHARA
Remember the pretty face (other than Mandira Bedi) during the Cricket World Cup, 2003 on Sony television who made predictions for the cricket teams? In fact, she is the talented daughter of the well-known tarot card reader, Ma Prem Usha. She, together with her mother, has also written a book, Annual Horoscope 2004 Based on Tarot Card Readings. Ritambhara has been reading tarot cards professionally for the last seven years.

This young tarot card reader amazed everyone with her ?almost? correct predictions during the cricket world cup matches. Here?s what she has to say about what lies ahead in various fields:

Politics: She too does not see Sonia Gandhi taking over as PM. The cards say that she is too aggressive. She needs to overcome this to emerge stronger as a leader.

She sees internal strife within the BJP.

Apparently Aishwarya Rai and Vivek Oberoi will get married. The tarot cards say they need not worry about professional insecurities and should just go ahead.

Sachin Tendulkar will be like a bullet let off from a gun - unstoppable, after June-July.

Ma Prem Usha
Ma Prem Usha has been an Osho sanyasin for three decades and is much influenced by his vision and spiritual teachings. She?s a widely travelled tarot consultant who has been reading the cards for twenty years. She played a major role in bringing the mystical tarot cards back from the West to the East, possibly to their origins. She also teaches and initiates people into the world of tarot.

Ma Prem Usha?s predictions for the year 2004:
Since this is the year ruled by number 6, it is a year of lovers. Ruled by the planet Mercury, 2004 will be a year of communication and swiftness at all levels, physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.

2004 will see the booming of the travel and tourism industry. This is a year of duality. There will be great fusion between East and West.

Emotionally, there will be more tolerance, more compassion. Lots of mixed marriages on the cards.

At a mental level, there will be positive thinking.

Spiritually, people will tend to look within, meditate.

No news yet. I had to rent a car, and ended up noticing they didnt have a drink machine. LOL Actually the staff guy brought it up when I told him about what happened. so I may try to get one in there (I have spare machine) But of course there are no guarantees as he said his friend was thinking about starting up (this could mean they might keep the site for themselves). wouldnt it be funny if I got a good site out of this. But this is very serious the car rental is $180 a week and that will soon ruin me. I found another prediction site, I will add it later but a bit busy now.

Sorry to hear about your van. A suggestion if I may - don't bother with the club. They're pretty useless, actually. Sure, it takes hours to cut through with a hacksaw, but it only takes a few seconds to cut through the steering wheel. And they're cheap to replace. Invest, instead, in a good car alarm.

Here's to hopinh to get your van back. And in good condition.

*fingers crossed for ya* smile.gif

I went to the library and got The Bible Code to read, they didnt have anything in about nostradamus (though I have read a few books before I would like to read more) or mother shipton - they say they will be getting in some new nostradamus books soon.

Re The Bible Code, it's very interesting. I also checked out a few internet sites talking about it. It seems to be a subject people either believe in strongly or disagree with strongly and little middle ground.

I found it amazing that so many words and names and events seem to be found in the Torah with this code. Some of the interpretations made by the author are a bit suspect. I'm up to his prediction of atomic attack against Israel in the year 1996 or in the following 5 years, I cant wait to see why it didnt happen, I suspect his answer would be that he managed to change this prediction and prevent it from happening, at least temporarily, as he had an interview with Shimon Peres to discuss the possibility.

The author seems to be under the illusion, perhaps subconsciously that he was predestined to be part of the uncovering of this code. In some of the 'predictions' there are suspect present, future and past tenses. He also finds the word 'delayed' many times and I wonder what his interpretation of that word would be. I also found in one of the illustrations the wrong letter was circled blink.gif The right letter was next door to it. It really makes me wish I could read Hebrew so that I didnt have to rely on someone else's translation!

As a personal aside, I tried to 'look' with my mind for something relevent to the world and the future. The only thing that came to me was that something important is 'hidden' in afghanistan. This is something very important for terrorists/al queda/Bin Laden and may have some relation to Russia/Soviet Union. I kind of wish this was more specific and that I had more certainty to call it a 'prediction' but I am worried that I might have been surmising this from information that I have seen in the past during the war in Afghanistan?

Al-Qaeda May Nuke Oilfields
U.S. intelligence thinks al-Qaeda may have nuclear weapons, and says a secret stash of nukes may still exist somewhere in Afghanistan. In December, enough low-grade uranium-238 was discovered in tunnels near a former al-Qaeda base there to make one "dirty" bomb. They probably got the material on the black market, which has been thriving ever since the breakup of the Soviet Union, as smugglers in former communist countries sell off old weapons. Dirty bombs usually aren't powerful enough to blow up large structures, but they can spread radioactive contamination over a wide area.
A former Soviet GRU (military intelligence) agent says, "Mossad [Israeli intelligence] reported that bin Laden bought tactical nuclear weapons from some former Soviet republics. They are not the suitcase-type bombs that people often refer to, but more the warhead-type munitions. These are the payloads of short-range missiles, torpedoes, and the like."

But Rose Gottemoeller, of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, says, "I believe that the chance that al- Qaeda controls actual warheads is virtually nil?I think it more likely that they have some kind of lower-level sources than weapons-grade material? It is possible such material could have come to him from a former Soviet nuclear facility, not only in Russia, but in Kazakhstan, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, etc." Atomic Demolitions Munitions (ADMs) are miniaturized warheads that were developed by the U.S. during the Vietnam War. They were designed for use against structures such as bridges and dams. The Soviets soon built huge quantities of them for their own use, and GRU agents buried them near key U.S. government and military targets. Others were buried along Russia's borders for use as nuclear land mines in the event of invasion. They were often disguised as boulders. Each has a yield of about 1 kiloton, equivalent to 1,000 tons of TNT, and they can be set off by remote control. It?s been estimated that one ADM could immediately kill 100,000 people if it exploded in a major city center, with hundreds of thousands dying from cancer in the fallout.

At least 84 of these soviet warheads are missing and unaccounted for. ADMs remain potent for eight years; afterwards they need to be sent to a laboratory for refurbishment. This means we may be able to stop worrying about them if enough time goes by.

Paul Rogers, of the Center for Peace Studies in the U.K., says, "There were unconfirmed reports that one or two Soviet-era tactical nuclear weapons had got to Iran a few years ago. Apart from that, I do not have any evidence that al Qaeda has access to such weapons."

However, one senior Western intelligence official thinks they have nine of them, bought for $30 million plus 2 tons of opium per nuke. He says, "Reliable sources report that not only atomic munitions were sold by the Russian underworld and smuggled into [Central Asia] during the conflict between the U.S. and the Taliban, but that several Russian nuclear technicians were hired by the Islamic fundamentalists to try and make the weapons operational."

These might not be used directly against the United States. Instead, al-Qaeda may be planning to use them to create an Islamic superstate by using them to destroy the oil industry in the Middle East, causing a global economic meltdown, according to a report by the think tank Decision Support Systems.

With most of the world's oil reserves inaccessible, the United States would no longer have an economic interest in the region, and Islamic fundamentalism could take over. One sign of this might have been Iraq's attempt to destroy the oil fields in Kuwait during the 1991 Gulf war. Robert Sherman, of the Federation of American Scientists, says, "I presume that someone with a detailed knowledge of the oil field could cause a cascading effect with great damage."

Prior to September 11, al-Qaeda accused the United States of "robbing all Muslims" of $36.96 trillion by exploiting its oil interests in the Middle East and blamed the U.S. for the region's poverty.

U.S. intelligence is closing in on Osama bin-Laden, due to information from recently captured al-Qaeda operative Khalid Shaikh Mohammed. They think he's in the Baluchistan province of Pakistan, on the border of Iran, although Pakistan denies this. Intelligence operatives are being moved into the area.

There have been many unconfirmed reports of sightings of bin-Laden in the area on both sides of the Pakistani-Iranian border, and Mohammed has a large family there. "This has strengthened our belief that we are going to get him," says U.S. intelligence official.

Analysts believe Mohammed was recently in direct communication with people in bin-Laden?s camp, although intercepted telephone calls did not capture the voice of the Osama himself. Many people are convinced he must be dead? however, Mohammed has told interrogators that he's seen him within the last month.

Yes, another prediction I would have made was a dirty bomb attack on the US, probably with a truck bomb.

Since the channel tunnel attack hasnt occured yet, I have zero faith in any of my predictions right now though smile.gif

I predict a 6.4 magnitude quake in a sparsely populated area south of the Mojave Desert sometime before September 5th.

(UCLA seismologists? never heard of them ph34r.gif laugh.gif)

you ought to use this time to find out what to do about radiation. Suicide bombers (or pilots) + fanatacism =dirty bomb. I certainly made sure I found out about it.

Secret Pentagon Global Warming Report

The Pentagon's secret climate report warns that in next 20 years, there could be a global catastrophe costing millions of lives in wars and natural disasters. Major European cities will be sunk beneath rising seas and Britain will have a "Siberian" climate by 2020. Nuclear conflict, major droughts, famine and widespread rioting will spread across the world. This report has been kept under wraps by the U.S. military, but the contents have now been exposed by a major newspaper in the U.K.
In the Observer, Mark Townsend and Paul Harris reveal the contents of the secret report, commissioned by Pentagon defense adviser Andrew Marshall and compiled by CIA consultant Peter Schwartz and Doug Randall of the Global Business Network. It warns of possible nuclear war over dwindling food, water and energy supplies and says, "Disruption and conflict will be endemic features of life. Once again, warfare would define human life."

The report says that climate change "should be elevated beyond a scientific debate to a U.S. national security concern." Sudden climate change is "plausible and would challenge United States national security in ways that should be considered immediately." They predict widespread flooding due to a rise in sea levels by next year.

Bob Watson, formerly chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, says, "Can Bush ignore the Pentagon? It's going to be hard to blow off this sort of document. It?s hugely embarrassing. After all, Bush's single highest priority is national defense. The Pentagon is no wacko, liberal group, generally speaking it is conservative. If climate change is a threat to national security and the economy, then he has to act. There are two groups the Bush Administration tend to listen to, the oil lobby and the Pentagon."

Doug Randall, one of the authors of the report, says, "This is depressing stuff...It is a national security threat that is unique because there is no enemy to point your guns at and we have no control over the threat? We don't know exactly where we are in the process. It could start tomorrow and we would not know for another five years. The consequences for some nations of the climate change are unbelievable. It seems obvious that cutting the use of fossil fuels would be worthwhile."

Rob Gueterbock of Greenpeace says, "You've got a President who says global warming is a hoax, and across the Potomac river you've got a Pentagon preparing for climate wars. It's pretty scary when Bush starts to ignore his own government on this issue."

Jeremy Symons, formerly at the Environmental Protection Agency, says, "This administration is ignoring the evidence in order to placate a handful of large energy and oil companies."

We have one question: Why hasn't this made headlines in the U.S.?
