I am becoming very interested in buying a new gptr program and had a few questions for some of the owners. If any of you don't mind answering either in post or by pm. I wanted to know about how much time do you spend per day or week running the program? Also how much initial upfront costs were involved. I think I have settled on getting a cc script. So that would be $299. I also figure about $20 or so in hosting. Got a few companies I am looking at for this. I also know there needs to be some money to start up for advertising. Am I missing anything here. I also wanted to know if anyone has any suggestions for someone just getting started that they would like to share. I also wanted to know how difficult it is to move to a seperate server after the purchse? Any information would be helpful and greatly appreciated.

Hosting can be expensive... and getting advertisers are not easy. If you are not ready to spend hours to get advertisers, don't even bother. What are you going to pay people with? First, you spend 300, then hosting fees, then you have to pay them. What do you pay them with? Your not going to make it off banner ads and such, you need people to pay you money to send out paid emails, which are getting harder and harder to find. One of the reasons why I ditched that idea.

Hosting is about $20-$30/month for good service. Don't forget you also need a domain name. That is only about $15/year. My advice to you...don't do it. At least not now. There are already too many sites. I wish I had waited... aa.gif

Oh yeah, I spend about 4-5 hours on the site a day.

MEC will give you the first months hosting when you buy a site. Also, if you are a member, you will earn a percentage of making the sale to yourself aa.gif
Sandra and I put in no less than 12-16 hours a day each, though I manage 3 all iin all and help on another 4. Finding advertisers, affiliate programs, ebaying, all are time consuming, as is member support. We enjoy it a LOT or would not but in the effort. Like anything the more time and care put in, the greater the rewards aa.gif
As far as promoting your site, doing ad and banner trades with other webmasters is fairly cost effective. Using your advertising points on programs also is a help. We do quite a bit of paid advertising for our gold members.
