I'm sort of a newbie and am really trying to build my donwlines. I am using the downline builder and it's working but what else can I do? I have joined a couple of downline clubs... any other tips? Please share what works for you.

Earn points at certain GPT programs such as PaidEmailBiz (www.paidemailbiz.com) and redeem them for advertising in that program.
Send paid emails. Avoid Paid To Signups. Act quickly when a program is still very young. Use ebay or the auction house on GPF to get good deals on ads. To some degree, luck is also involved.
important thing is to promote ... promote and promote again

Use safelist and traffic exchange to get hits, and maybe new members 
Like someone already said the best way to get active referrals is by sending out paid emails as the people who sign up really want to join the programme.
I have also received some quite good results with PTCs.
You could try paid to signups but i warn you that most of them end up being inactive.
Or you could try purcahsing a gold membership in a new programme. It is a risk, but some risks are worth it!

If you don't have much money to spend for advertising you could try hit exchange programs (I personaly prefer manual than auto). You watch other people sites and in exchange they see yours.

I use Paid to sign ups and it works for me. Only be carefull where you buy the paid to sign up. I can recommend OpalMail. Not too expensive and the PO is cooperative.
I would not focus on new programs. In stead I only build on programs that paid me, or seem to be very honest.
So you see, many persons , all different advices:
Just consider: What kind of person are you?
(Carefull, or ready to take a gamble.)
How much you want to make and how long do you want to continue clicking emails. The first period might not be rewarding, but cashflow will start later.( after a few months)
Also, how much do you want to invest? Will you use your own money, all your earnings or part of your earnings?
You can also try Ebay offers , some are very expensive but there are some bargains sometimes. Just watch them and try to pick the best. Also wait with Bidding as longis possible( best time is 1 minute before the auction closes.

Hi Michelle
In the first 8 weeks you will not be paid much, maybe a few cents.
Then It will grow first to some dollars, maybe 5, . After a month or 6 you should be able to redeem once every to weeks. You earning whoever will grow from the start. With 30 programs I think you should be able to "earn" bewteen 5 and 10 $ a week. Depending where you signed up and how often you click.
We started 6 months ago and have an average payout of 15$ a months. Our earning grow 20 $ a week. We have 300+ downline.

Referals are nice, but better is to sign up with the better programs first!

yep it can be...bought these 3 gold memberships about 6 months ago.....

I think it's ALL about luck....coz on this one, my ad didn't do squat...but lucked out BIG TIME in the dl builder

i think these programmes are great, i have got so many referrals from them
i Joined them all!!
i think pomoterprosemail, mikessoloads, misha-mails and dollar-mail are all very good redeem for ads only programs too!
Join new programs early. Then promote the h e double hockey sticks out of em. 2 programs I recommend now are Be Big Cash and I am doing real well so far with Mustang Emails.
