Hello again smile.gif Bet your all sick of me and my mad ideas aintya?

Well I have another one.

As most of you know DiamondsRainEmails is up for sale. I am in the process at the moment of trying to get a hold of Julie to ask her more details. Those of you that know me, and to be honest its you that I am aiming this at, know that I have a lot of my own problems at the moment and therefore no time.

DRE is another big program, good member base, good reputation, and good staff. Its another one that would be a huge shame to lose.

So whats ya idea Shel ya great hairy muppet? I hear you all hollering. Well I know that allof you fantastic angels of the PTR world are very busy with your own most excellent sites and singularly none of you would probably want to take this site on. BUT I also know how much alot of you care about things like this and would prob like to help.

So how about a coalition? A joining of forces...a bringing together of wisdom, knowledge and time? I am spouting crap. Sorry. Just trying to justify my hare-brained concepts with long words. I am the discovery channel.

What I mean is if 4 or 5 of us (yes me included, I am not just talking big) got together as a team to buy this site and run it. It would split costs, and workload hugely. Instead of working 7 days a week everyone could work part time within their own specialist areas. Noone 'in charge' and all decisions made as a team. I know that there are a lot of us that think similarly, and get on well, and could make this work.

So if you think I am talking to you, then I probably am. If your sat there thinking who is that bird? then I probably am not.

Let me know what you think, whether you would be interested, or if you think I am indeed a little bit mad-in-de-hid.

Excellent idea, instead of "giving away" this site to a none-experied PTR owner "we" could run it and make the best of it.

I'm a verry interested superbird79 and hoping to receive a PM or reply with your furder thougheds about this Idea.

Best wishes,

Shel,

If people buy this over with all debts and all and no member losing one cent or one advantage, why not .. but if it's not like this ..you just are going to give a Programme Owner the hability to run away without having to face responsibilities and lots more will do the same in the future as they know someone will 'save' their site anyway.

And besides, it is every time the same, when a site goes down, we are all expected to support the saviors whereas by doing so we totally forget to support the sites that have been stable and didn't screw us ...

Sorry but this constant 'saving' sites thing just doesn't seem right to me even if you mean it right, the more we accept it the more it will happen ... we have it every week now ..

Just my 2 cents

Sophie

Sophie, your fab you are. Reminded me I need to explain a bit more.

At the moment the only person who seems to be dealing with this is Ted from Lone Wolf. I have spoken with him and he is going to pass my name along to Julie. I have also emailed Julie directly to find out more details. Before I even think about taking this one step further I want to know details, screenshot of the CC admin main page with site debt etc, payout history, the works. If this site is a lemon with $30000 of debt and a 3 month back log of payments then I'm outta here.

I don't mean to step in and 'save' this site, my intentions are different. Julie is selling the site, and at present the only people who have been offered it as far as I know are the members of LW. I just don't want to see this site fall into the hands of an unexperienced member with a bit of spare cash. In this forum there are a lot of great WMs with a lot of knowledge between them, the likes of Kevvy Wevvy and Ms Free, Jaz etc. Imagine if they all got together to run a big site!

Sophie I dunno. I'm just dreaming. You know me, hare brained schemes are my speciality lol. At the moment I am just voicing thoughts, getting feedback etc. Its still just an idea.

I completely see your point, and I am sick of seeing sites go down the pan in the first month. How many has it happened to recently? Lol I only have to think back to the days of Bettys. Thats why I want to talk to Julie, find out why she is selling, whether its personal reasons or an oh bums I got in a bit too deep and blimey I owe a lot of money. DOes that make sense? I am rambling again sorry.

Anywho for now I just want some feedback and a simple yes I would be interested no I wouldn't kind of thing.

OK smile.gif

As long as it is not an easy way to buy a site with so many members and erase all the debts, having so a site with full membership for a cheap price and allowing at the same time the webmaster to take a runner ... and as long as members are told before the site is taken over who are going to be the new owners so they can unsub and protect their privacy if they want to .... I think you have got a very good idea wink.gif

Errrr ... me not established webmaster therefore your yes or no question doesn't apply to me tongue.gif

Thanks for explaining all this Shel wink.gif

I will lend a hand if needed for any aspect, but as far as an ownership split, i'll sit that part out, I've had my fill of new sites for now wink.gif

OK according to Ted of LW in the other thread on this (over in general discussion) all payouts will be paid prior to handover, and site debt is around $7300. Still waiting for contact from Julie.

It's been HOURS since LeighAnn tried to call Julie! At that point..Julie said that she couldn't run a site with no computer. Then she said she'd call Leigh back in 20 mins...that was around 2pm EST.

LeighAnn and I have been talking..and I think she would really like to try to run thing. LeighAnn offered to help Julie in hopes to learn the ropes so she could open her own site one day. Julie offered her and me the opportunity to partner with her on her new site shortly after we offered to help her on this one. It's been a GREAT learning experience for LeighAnn..she's doing marvelous! She needs to learn some stuff..stuff that I couldn't teach her because I don't know quite how to do them..but I think she'd be great for the site with a little help from someone a little more experienced than I am!

I was in the inbox earlier and I totalled up all the paypal receipts that are in the mailbox..from Dec. 6th til today...they added up to a little over $600. I don't know if Julie took $100 of that out to get the e-gold transfer or not..and as far as I know..she hasn't made any payout because they date back to Dec. 5th in the mailbox.

Like I said..I don't know what she has in her Outlook Express file before then...she sent everything over to us...but I never saw any payout requests.

It's been days since I've talked to Julie. She came in and decided to dump e-gold off the site...and was going to replace it..but never did. She did this make me an offer thing and there are TONS of offers in a folder waiting for her to accept or decline them. Then she jumped in and decided to have contest...we knew nothing about it..there are about 50-75 emails that pretain to that.

Right now there are 2 possible outcomes that I forsee!...

1. Julie wants to sell the site..just for the money..and everything that it has made is gone. Then everyone is screwed and there will need to be ALOT of rebuilding.

2. Julie just wants to give it away and do the right thing and hand over the paypal account with everything still in it and everyone can go about their merry way and it'll be JUST like it's been for the past 2 weeks...except people will be getting paid!

I'm hoping for #2!

If I could drive to Vegas and track her down..I would. I sooo want to know what is going on..I want to know why she didn't tell LeighAnn and I.

I don't know..I don't understand! It's sooo aggravating to be left in the dark like this!

Thank you Shel..and everyone else for wanting to step in and help out! I wish I knew more information..hopefully everything will come out soon!

UPDATE!!

LeighAnn has talked to Julie!!

As of right now...Julie is giving the site to LeighAnn and I will be helping her as much as I possibly can until my new site launches in January...just like I had planned to do with Julie!

Julie said she doesn't have a problem transferring the paypal money into another account.

Granted..this is yet to be seen..but it's hopeful!

LeighAnn is applying for access to this section of the forum right now..so she can post too! She just wanted me to put this here so that ya'll know where everything stands!

Nothing is final of course..but we wanted to kind of stop the talks of selling for now..to see if everything works out.

Thanks again to everyone for their support! Ya'll are truely a wonderful group of people! It's been a blessing to have ya'll around during all of this!

For now we are staying out of the main folders...I know that people need to know what's going on..but we don't want to get anyone's hopes up..just in case Julie doesn't come through and do what she said she'd do. As soon as things are final..we'll hit all 3 forums that we have been watching today and clear it all up...and send a message to the members!

Thanks again ya'll!

I hate to seem negative - I really do wink.gif - but I'd be worried about inheriting site which has brought in $600, and $7300 has gone on to the site debt. At the very least, that suggests that the program needs some structural changes regarding prices. costs, ref %'s - all that jazz.
crystal121676
That's only 2 weeks worth of paypal receipts...I can't say for sure what exactly the site has brought in!

All I was saying is...I've gone through $600 in paypal receipts since the mail got switched over to horde on Dec. 5th or 6th!

My mistake - somehow I must have got the idea that was when the program started. In reality, to make a fair assessment of the state of the program, all the figures need to be seen - site debt, payments made so far, money received so far, payments outstanding, and cash-in-hand (or Paypal or whatever). Maybe other bits of info too that I haven't thought of. A look at a cash balance report would be excellent, as there may be 100's of members almost ready to cashout. unsure.gif

But my biggest concern is the $7,300 debt on a site which has a low payout level of $8.
superbird79
WOOHOOOOO now thats a good result biggrin.gif

I'm a clicker I can't afford Tesco's!! I want choccy buttons.

Topic shel.

ho hum guess we'll have to wait and see, but in my mostly humble majoritively pants opinion its better to have leigh ann and crystal running the show than a newbie member with a bit of cash. All I will say is the more WMs that offer them support, advice when they want it, and encouragement the better. Gawd I am sorry its the danged christmas spirit getting to me.
