VERY annoying. Anyone agree??
austin31612
Yep, I agree.
in2travel
OOOOOH yes, me too.
But I think that's how they make money isn't it?
Still makes them annoying though.

COMPLETELY agree. Popups are always infuriating, but they're at their absolute worst when you are in the middle of typing something and they come up like a pesky insect, landing all over your food at a picnic. NOW HEAR THIS, ALL YOU PEOPLE THAT USE POP-UPS--I NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER LOOK AT YOUR CRUMMY POP UPS! I DON'T KNOW A SINGLE PERSON WHO DOES!! I CANNOT CLOSE THEM FAST ENOUGH!!! THEY CAN ONLY MAKE ME HATE YOUR WEBSITE MORE AND MORE EACH TIME I SEE THEM, UNTIL I WANT TO COME TO YOUR HOUSE AND TIE YOUR DOG IN A KNOT!!!!!

I'm sorry. I just really hate the scuzzy things.
tipsy
What I hate the most is you close one out and another pops up it's like an endless cycle.. I spend at least ten minutes trying to close all of them out....

Use Opera You can configure it not to accept popups

I don't use opera because the problem is, some sites doesn't load correctly for me..

I don't use opera, either...I use ROCK!
Figure out where the person lives, hit 'em with a rock.

HEE! I usually have my Pop-up stopper enabled, but since I have been surfing for hits with lots of browsers open, I can't enable it so popups come out of nowhere! I just opened a page recently that had 7 popups. How annoying. No one reads them anyway.
thasith
rock? you meant, the rock that you use to throw to someone?! LOL

Everyone that puts pop-ups on their GPTR sites, ususlly looses me as a member(even if I have already spent $ to promote them) If you contact them about the pop-up problem, they pretty much spit in your face (or don't reply)

Just "X" them out as soon as they appear. Don't let them sit is your status bar either...Done let them load...they won't get credit (I don't think )

I LOATHE pop-ups! Some break frames & take up the whole screen - without a way to close them. I have to control-alt-delete them!
As far as making money from them, it can't be that much!

I use PopUp Killer - it's okay.
You can download it here:
http://software.xfx.net/

It's free too.

I use pop up killer but it doesn't always work. So this "Opera" is a good program?

It is no more...I went there, and it is gone. They removed it due to problems. Oh, well...

LOL! .. that's a web browser, just like Internet Explorer .. actually I think it's even better than IE, but the problem is that there are A LOT OF LAME WEBMASTERS, WHO DON'T CARE ABOUT THE VISITOR'S BROWSER. And .. it's even not so hard to make a page to look exactly the same way in all browsers

I use Banner Catcher to catch all the popups. I used it because the popups crashes my computer when too many windows are open at one time.

I know how you feel. Alt+F4 will also close the window.

win2k deals with popups pretty well. I once tried one of those "trap" sites that open popups in an endless loop and the system was stable with more than 1000 IE windows open.

Can I get a link to a good anti-pop-up program? Thanks.
