Hello!! This is my first post and I have a question. Has anyone had a problem with any of the GPTR sites having a ghost script that adds something called "tinybar" to their browser. I'm pretty sure I know where it came from. I don't want to say for sure, but my ISP (small town here so we get 1 on 1 service) checked out this site and found that it does have a ghost script. It adds something that changes my browser and I think it tracks my visits to other web pages. Can anyone help?????? Thanks a lot!!!

Which site? I think you need to click a Yes response on a popup window before that script can do something to your borwser.

The site is ClickHall.com.. When I went to it this morning, a grey box popped up in the middle of my screen that said "Microsoft Internet OK". There was NO yes or no option buttons on there. It would not go away even right clicking on it and clicking "close" To get it to go away, I had to shut down and restart my computer. The guy at my ISP said that when he went to that site, his machine notified him that it had a "ghost script" on it. This is all I know.. any thoughts?? Thanks!!

I can't find that "unclosable" popup on their site. Next time use alt-ctrl-del and close it in the task manager.
That happens sometimes when using Degoo because my-stats is the pop-up :frown:

If you are worried about what is being tracked on your computor I highly recommend that you download Ad aware.
It is a free download and will check for spyware on your computor. You will be amazed at how much stuff is there the first time you run it. I run it every couple of days and am constantly finding one or two new valueclick spyware links to remove.
Don't know if I am allowed to post the link here.

Something similar to that happened to me. A program called 'Blow Search' was automatically loaded on my computer. It inserted a search bar on bottom of my screen, a short cut, AND added it to my Favorites!
It took me a while to delete it all off my computer. I think it came from a pop-up while surfing a traffic program. Not sure which one though.
But I never clicked 'ok' to anything - it just loaded itself automatically.
Some people just have no ethics at all.

Thanks a lot y'all. It added to my favorites list too. This one was called "Tiny Bar". I finally traced it back to something or somewhere called furby/porncamz.. LOL.. I have never even been to a porn site.. LOL.. It came from one of those horrid popups that just automatically d/l stuff. You are right about the "no ethics" thing. Thanks again!!

Another one is Gator, it tries to download it and some other things when you open up certain pages. Granted, Gator can be useful, but darn it, if I don't want it, don't try to force me to take it! lol
