In Re: James and Sherry Montroy

Dear Mr. Seifert and Sgt. Silberhorn:

I am a member of a growing internet community that has had internet business dealings with James and/or Sherry Montroy. It has come to my attention that they have faced, and are facing numerous criminal charges. I wish to bring to your attention that my business dealings with the Montroys have lead to financial loss on my part, and that there may have been fraudulent representations and transactions made at the hands of the Montroys and at my expense. I fully understand that being a bad businessman is not necessarily a crime, but in light of the multitude of charges, I would like to bring these matters to your attention as an illustration of the character and practices of the Montroys, who, from a review of the public records, appear to have a continuing disregard for the law and fair trade.

I would further ask that if you find merit to my disclosures that you initiate an investigation as appropriate. In the alternative, I would ask that as a condition of any probation, parole, or sentence that you recommend that James and/or Sherry Montroy be ordered to honor their financial obligations to the multitude of individuals they have bilked in their various internet businesses, and that a receiver or other responsible individual be appointed to oversee the continued legal and fair operation of the businesses to promulgate restitution to the victims.

The following circumstances apply to my particular business with the Montroys:

____ I am or was a member of their ?Get Paid To Read? programs from on or about ___ day of _______, ____ until on or about ____ day of _______, _____ wherein we were promised payment for reading and reviewing advertisements on a regular basis. Each advertisement had a varied payment value. We were promised payment, per the terms of the ________ program. I am owed exactly/approximately $_______.

____ I ordered internet web hosting services from the Montroys for my site, ______ on or about _______. The price per month was $______. I paid for ____ months of service. I have only received ______ of service and was never refunded the difference. I have been forced, at considerable expense in the amount of $______ to relocate my online business site, and in addition have suffered losses for that inconvenience in the amount of $_____.

_____ I ordered advertising from the Montroys for their ________ program, on or about ____ day of _______, ____. I paid $_____ for this advertising by _________. I never received the advertising and I requested a refund in the amount of $________. I never received a refund

_____ I purchased search engine services or service from the Montroys for my business, ________. I paid $______ for these services. I never received the product, and despite repeated requests for refund, I am owed $_______.

_____ I purchased registered web site management (e.g. CashCrusader) tools and/or scripts from the Montroys on _______. I paid $______ for this product. I did not receive the product I purchased, nor was it ever installed as promised. I am owed a refund of $_____.

_____ I purchased registered web site management tools and/or scripts from the Montroys on ______. I paid $_____. While I have received the product as noted, I have learned it is not a registered product and its use places me at risk of software piracy issues. I request that the product either be properly registered and the proper documentation given to me or that I am refunded the amount of $______.

_____ I purchased installation services of web site management tools and/or scripts from the Montroys on _____. I paid $_____. This product was never installed, and I request a refund in the amount of $_______.

_____ I purchased installation services of web site management tools and/or scripts from the Montroys on _____. I paid $______. The product that was installed was an inferior product to the one I originally purchased, and I request either a refund or a price adjustment in the amount of $________.

_____ I was solicited to invest in an ?Executive Program? which would enable the Montroys to make capital expenditures for their business. I paid $_____ for this investment by ________. I was promised a return of the principal in ______ months, plus interest or a premium in the amount of $______ every month. I have not received any payment, nor have I received any evidence of the capital expenditures. I wish to be refunded $____________.

I am attaching the appropriate receipts and confirmations to substantiate my claims.

Thank you for your attention to this matter, and thank you for your service to the People.

Sincerely,

Matois,

It just occurred to me that it may have been better to have said:

The following circumstances apply to my particular business with the Montroys, from on or about ___ day of _______, ____ until on or about ____ day of _______, _____ :

instead of what I originally said. This would be the only place necessary to enter a date. What do you think? I apologize; I should have considered that when I commented on the original draft. My error entirely.

Ron

As far as your stats go, everyone should be able to make a reasonable guess as to how much they earned or pretty close to it. Simply estimate based on your last recollection of what was on account. If law enforcment does move forward based on our collective complaints, they'll have access (hopefully) to the last information before Jay and Sherry were confined and be able to pinpoint it exactly. Remember, this is just an approximation (unless you do know exactly) to give them an idea of the magnitude of the situation. Just be fair and reasonable in your estimates.

Matois,
I agree with you on the date thing. I'm just going to copy and paste your second insteat of using the line in the first letter. I'm sure that everyone could just do that if they think it's better fitted to their circumstances.

I will not speak for the wonderful aurhors of this court letter, but do urge you to not be afraid of every last detail or prrof, please? Simply stating what happened to you as best you can, via the form is good enough! DOn't let your perfectionism stop you from doing this! Thanks!

At matois' request, I am currently in the process of e.mailing (or PM'ing) every program owner I can think of and directing them to this thread, requesting that they do the same for their member bases.

For people that do not have printers, they can send the email to me. I have a underused postage meter that I would be happy to put towards this cause.

I'll print off each one and mail it no charge.
