can anyone explain the latest Admin message from M.Duff to me ?

I guess I don't really understand what has happened...

Richie, what he's saying is; he's upset over losing a few more of his "parked domains". Someone apparently reported him to those sites, since they don't allow "incentive" advertising...and to get back at the spies, he's no longer doing to be sending out "Admin" links. All the ads will be up to the member base.

Oh, and he's showing drunk e-mailing, much like drunk dialing your ex, is a bad thing, mmmmkay? (But at least he was sober enough to self-censor. I guess that's not too bad.)

i think everyone was choked when they read the email and you all have this lil crusader (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nausea.gif) and their cronies to thank for this. I can honestly say that i do searches because i want to and not because i'm forced, recently i have left 2 sites because they don't pay if you haven't done enough searching so if anyone is forcing search it's them. A site who sets their timer to 5 secs is NOT forcing search , searching takes a lot longer than 5 secs. Team1players and agroupeffort (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumbup.gif) are my top 2 favourite sites and i think alot of other poeple will agree. Lil crusader and co. does not have anyones best interests at heart they just want to win this ongoing battle and it's not just michael ( wm) who will suffer it's you and me. If this group of bad mouthers carry on then you will lose over $100 a month (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) which is what a lot of people make on there, and i for one can not afford to lose it. I don't know why they are doing this whether it's jealousy or something else i don't know . do you work for paypal by any chance? come on team1players and agroupeffort fans get behind the owner and give your support !!!! don't let them get away with this because it's not on.

If you break the TOS of Mr Duff's sites, I expect he will delete your account and not pay you.

This has nothing to do with forced searching...

Duff broke the TOS of the parking companies, and they deleted his accounts and didn't pay him.

This is to to with click fraud however, to the tune of $21k plus whatever he's taken in the past (paid or unpaid) from other parking companies and anyone fool enough to buy text ads on his googleadons sham.

The only person Duff should be blaming, is himself.

I think I understand what forced search and click fraud is, but what is a parked site ?
and what is the connection ?

I'll be honest and say I'm curious about what the difference between a "parked site" search and a regular search that gets sent through email so frequently...but this pretty much all I can gather on the parked sites. a "parked" site is a site that you own, but can't exactly find a use for..so you take the domain and park it, which displays search terms...and those search terms can earn you money back on your un-used domain. (it could also be an offer to sell the unused domain.)

So M. Duff doesn't have the money to pay his members and instead of just admitting that fact, he's decided it's all MY fault (along with a few unnamed others)?????

I don't suppose it will do any good to say I haven't been the least bit interested in anything Michael Duff has done for a couple of months now aside from posting in several places that he really seemed to be cleaning up his act.

He deserved to lose accounts back then because those were the days when he was trying to disguise the source of clicks by getting rid of the site inbox and the timer on ads. If he's still losing accounts despite restoring both of those things, then it's because he's still violating the parkers' Terms in some way --- NOT because of me or anyone else! (And not that I suppose it matters, but I left AGE long ago and I'm not active in Team 1.)

Nice try M. Duff. I'm sure a few of your members will buy what you're trying to sell, but hopefully most are intelligent enough to see through your "poor me" act. Back when you cleaned up your act, I publically suggested that you needed to start running more ads bought by others if your sites had any hope of surviving and stop running 99% your own ads. No site can survive for long by running nothing but the owner's ads unless they force searches. You did the right thing when you stopped forcing your members to search for you, but if you didn't start seeking new advertisers and new site revenue, then that's your fault, not mine or anyone else's.

(BTW: To whoever commended him for "self-censoring" that email - most of the censoring was done by this forum's bad word filter - Duff only "self-censored" two words in that entire email. TY to LilP for removing my ID from that hate-filled rant.)

That would of been me. I don't have a copy of the original email, but when I read through it earlier this morning in my in-box, it certainly looked to me like there was more than two words self-censored...but either way, for a drunk guy writing an email, and being able to still censor it in ANY fashion; I'd call commendable. (Of course...a drunk guy typing a complete thought is commendable as I've only known three people, including M.Duff, to type drunk. First guy, all he could type was ":D ", the second guy wanted a birthday present..and well, we saw what M.Duff typed.)

Correct.

A parked site, is a 'parked domain'. You park domains with 'domain parking companies'. The Better of these domain parking companies, have either google or yahoo 'backing' them, with cpc ads they in turn put on the parked domains.

The 'difference' is that the parked domain ads give ptr Access to the higher paying google and/or yahoo cpc ads they otherwise cannot get their hands on, they have for Years been Stuck with milking the 2nd tier ppc industry.

hope that makes some sence.

In duffs case, the sham looks like this:
Duff buys up a bunch of domain names.
Duff Parks those domain names with a good parking company that has the google or yahoo cpc backing.
The parking company then inserts the code, to display the ads on the domains duff has parked with them.
Then Duff sends the bogus traffic to the domain names via his ptr sites, ripping off both the parking company And goog or yahoo.
Google and/or Yahoo, split the revenue for each click on the parked domains with the parking company.
The parking company then gives a % of the click to the holder of the domain names, in this case Duff, who in turn pays a % to the members of the ptr sites that are being paid by himself to Be the Traffic And the Clicks. He got caught.

Actually, in Duffs Case, he didn't get 'caught' MO Ratted On Him, NOT lil c.
But I'm not Sure if I had anything to do with goldkey who also owns activeaudience deleting duffs accs or not, as they have be trashing ptr accs left front and center of late in the ptr circuit, duff doesn't have a monopoly on that one, so they may have just found it themselves, timing looks close, and not a factor either way.

He wasn't typing drunk... his normal typing/spelling is a lot worse than that, so either he is normally far more drunk when he sends admin mails or types in forums, or drinking improves his typing skills/coordination where it normally does the reverse for other people, or he hadn't really started drinking when he typed that rant out. That is more his personality talking than any alcohol (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

He broke the rules of the domain parking companies is what he did wrong. You are not allowed to drive traffic to them. You are not allowed to tell people or pay people to click the search results on them and even if he didn't force anyone to search, he was incentivising them to search as he made it clear that everyone is in the sites to help each other out, to make loads of money and the money comes from clicking the results.

Duff is not the only one losing parking accounts for this reason, so it's not that Duff is the only one being picked out and accounts canceled - if his site is where members make the most, that could be why he stood out more as being a potential cheat.
