While doing my emails just now, I came across a program offering the industry's most unsustainable ad prices. And yes, I said that I wasn't going to continue my crusade, but I couldn't not say something about this...

http://www.weather-mails.com/pages/advertise.php

Total Members: 1,075 (So I'll estimate ad prices based on 50% clickthrough rate)

1 cent solo e-mail to all members ( 20 sec. timer) - $1 (should be at least $5)
2 cents solo e-mail to all members ( 30sec. timer) - $2 (should be at least $10)
3 cents solo e-mail to all members ( 40sec. timer) - $3 (should be at least $15)

5 cents solo e-mail to all members ( 60sec. timer) - $5 (should be at least $25)
7 cents solo e-mail to all members ( 80sec. timer) - $7 (should be at least $35)

10 cents solo e-mail to all members ( 120sec. timer) - $10 (should be at least $50)

1 cent 500 PTC - $2.5 (should be at least $5)
1 cent 1000 PTC - $5 (should be at least $10)
2 cent 500 PTC - $5 (should be at least $10)
2 cent 1000 PTC - $8 (should be at least $20)

Now, keep in mind that I'm not even thinking about referral percentages here. And maybe they're assuming that with the 90% as active as your downline setting they've got going on, they won't have to pay out those percentages anyway.

I am about this close to completely denying the advertising of any programs that don't have stable ad prices on my site, because it seems to me that doing so might be the only retaliation we have anymore.

No, DreamStarMail is definately the most unstable. I just had to buy 3 5cent ads to all on friday. They were $.98 for a 5 cent mail.

I have been bitting my tongue for a bit now but i realy am going to say what is on my mind.

These sorts of sites either are out to make a quick $$$$ and not pay there members or have prats running them that have not got a clue about ad prices. I guess we will tell soon when people start posting in the complaints forum abut non-payments or the site has gone.

This is from my past experiences.

hmm
well keep in mind that only about 10% of the members will ever reach payout..
so there are getting profit there.

and about the 5c mail for $0.98 - it was only for the launch, the price is now $7
Ive been following it and they add another $1 to the price for every 500 new members

Yep, dreamstarmail sucks too...

I am so sick and tired of this...

Are there any WMs here who will join me in banning the advertising of programs who can't do math properly???

I don't care if only 2 members ever reach cashout, the low prices are killing this industry. It's about the member not only reaching cashout, but actually being PAID when they request it! Something that these programs are not going to be able to do forever.

Let's do some math then, shall we?

5 cent email to all (which is currently 3,638, so we'll go with 50%) for $6.98.

5 cents x 1,800 = $90!

So they're losing $83.02 on each sale, that doesn't count referral percentages.

But I guess it's okay that they keep raising it... What if they don't get any more members? Then it'll just stay at $7 forever, and they'll lose $80 on each sale? And this is okay?

Well guess what? Any more expensive and NOBODY will buy it.

If it isn't almost free you will not sell any. Too many freeloaders in the business.

I'm talking, if the prices are more than 20% below what they should be (counting base cost and referral percentages), then that would be too much and I wouldn't accept advertising for them.

Ad only programs don't count because they're not going to leave members hanging when they get too many cashout requests.

I agree with you completely Shane, so what's the harm in forcing these programs to raise their prices? If no one is undercutting anyone else, then the advertisers will have no choice but to pay what the ads are truly worth.
