Be carefull, Today i was reading my emails and noticed that Annies-Biz is sending emails with hidden software, asking for installation!

If you click a link, and see a box asking to install something, SELECT NO!

Those are Spywares that then infect your computer!!

This is not the only site i have seen this, there are others (Greenletter, MailingShots, are two other examples).

I KEPT A COPY OF THE EMAILS, PAGES, AND THE HTML THAT PROVES THIS, and now, I am reporting this issue to the correct authorities.

THIS IS HIGHLY ILLEGAL!! We are being bombed with things we didn't ask for!

We are paid to read emails, but PROGRAM OWNERS CAN NOT SEND US TO HIDDEN PAGES, OR SITES WITHOUT OUR KNOWLEDGE.

Well unless she is targeting your email only, the what you are saying is highly unlikely. I've opened all my mail from Annies, through my regular email and the inbox on site, and received no request to download anything. Sure you weren't running something else while you were reading your emails ?

You will find out quick enough if anyone else has this issue, until then you may want to wait on going to the authorities as you might only look silly.

Before you start hanging out annis - how can you know it's not the ADVERTIZER who is sending you the malware installation link? and just paying Annie to send it to you?

Whoever is NOT getting an installation prompt should *worry*.
Because the drive-by installation is succesfull in being silent with them.
The malware has succeeded in installing tiself without you being aware of it.
Better start getting some protection into place.

If drive-by installations were unlawful ( god knows the SHOULD be ) then the producers of them would sit in jail. I doubt they are.

Better ASK your autorities, instead of coming rushing in ...

Yours,
Kilgast

Here is yet another warning: when I surf to Annies site I get an installation request from "NetPal" about "online games" etc. - clearly some spyware.

What shocks me is that I just was looking to get to my account and check my inbox, I didnt even click on anything.

And it is definitely on Annies site, I dont have anything else running and I re-loaded the page to make sure.

PS: and its really annoying, with every click there the darn stuff pops up again, while there is no sight of my inbox.

Seems Annie really is struggling with a lot of things lately. Some script kiddies must really hate her, or she cant get it right for whatever reasons.

I don't know how it got there, but in her site is this:

CODE

<!-- AUTO_PROMPT AD START -->
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/JavaScript" src="http://www.NetpalOffers.net/NetpalOffers/DM0/Confirmtropm0.js"></script>
<!-- AUTO_PROMPT AD END -->

That's inside the <head> </head> tags, so it's not someone who submitted a banner. Nope. Annie had to have put that there herself, or someone hacked her site and modifed her web templates.

Anyway, that's what's causing the download.

Until recently I was plagued with the blue screen, the computer just stopping dead and not even being able to close it down in the normal manner but only whilst surfing. Never when off line.

To cut a long story short I came across Trojan Remover and downloaded it and used it. This application found a number of Trojans lurking in my OS but since then not one single blue screen, no freeze, just perfect working. My guess is that at some time a Trojan was planted onto my machine and as I got to a certain web site or sites it became active and did its stuff.

You can download Trojan Remover from:
http://www.networkingfiles.com/AntiVirus/Trojanremover.htm for a 30 days free trial. After that it will cost you $24.95 to continue using it and getting the unlock key. I did and it is money well spent but if you are from the UK or the EU you will be charged VAT. I know that this may bee seen as slightly off topic but I wondered why a business in the USA would be able to charge UK VAT on a product that they sell. My enquiries reveal that a new EU ruling (yes yet another one) is that a foreign (from the EU viewpoint) business can register their business in a EU country and charge VAT on the goods that it sells. Whether the VAT finds its way to the coffers of the country is a mute point.

By the way has anyone else noticed that more and more PTR and TE sites have pop-ups or fly-ins when logging in? A sneaky way of getting members to view an ad as they log in so that the Webmaster gets paid for it perhaps? Imagine the potential earnings for a PO with a membership of say 10,000 just because members log in.

Since yesterday, I get a window there with "JavaScript Application - Sorry, your browser is not WIN32-compatible", which it of course isn't since I'm not crazy enough to go online with Windows :). That's probably that installation thing, weird.

How can you be sure that it is a spy software sent by annies? On the other hand,if the software has not a malevolent purpose,i do not mind it very much. This is my personal opinion for it.

Once my firewall gave a warning of this, i canceled it. But i think there are some other probabilities. Since when you clicke a link, the advertiser's page is also running. It means that maybe the software is made by others but not the site's WM.
Hehe, this is also my opinion. Of course, i still need pay attention to it.Thank you.:)
